Title: A lesson learned
Description: Weight gain can be insightful!

So I go on my hols and completely pig out...for instance one day I had the following...
Arbys large meal with curly fries, a whole big bag of cheesy popcorn, 2 packs of cinnamon and brown sugar pop tarts, a pack of sweets, a pack of M&M's, a subway sandwich, half a cheeseburger and a portion of fries from TGI Fridays and copious amounts of root beer (and that was just one day!)
So that gives you an idea about how I ate whilst I was away...
I get home and see that 7 pounds have crept on...my jeans are tighter and I can see my stomach area looks bigger. I had one day where I felt seriously depressed and felt like I had let myself down and questioned whether I should just go with the flow and take some time out from the whole thing. But, for some reason, I feel really good now. OK I am 5 pounds heavier (2 dropped off almost immediately which I think were fluid retention) but it has not stopped me from getting back to my exercise as I know that I can get that new weight off quickly if I put my mind to it. This is huge progress for me....I feel happy that I have not let those extra pounds get me down. I am actually glad that I gained some weight as it has put things into perspective for me a little bit. I was def doing too much exercise before so am cutting back. I just wanted to share my positivity

you have the right attitude...not too down about the pounds but still wanting to get rid of them!
exercise is great but anything done to excess can be damaging...if you get your body used to such high levels of fitness unless you keep it up it will treat the calories differently..
so i'm glad to hear you are changing your perspective a little :huggs:

Thanks ladies! Yeah Shy I was painfully aware that over exercising can damage you ...taking a step back gives my muscles a rest and my mind! I am very driven person and will put my heart and soul into anything I do...that has helped me to succeed with the weight loss but it has also hindered me in that I probably took things too far at one point with the exercise. My brother was warning me that I could burn out if I didn't back away so thankfully I have. All a learning curve I guess :) I still love doing exercise though, just not so much of it!

Good onya Stormy, take the good with the bad and stop all that exercise dammit, you're showing me up! B)
I feel more alive now than I have been for the last week  I wonder if I can get off my butt now and do some exercise :P
