Orzo are little rice shaped pasta, very small and easy to swallow, and i really like them (quite filling too). Good in soups.
Here is a pic:

I'm still lusting after that impossible pumpkin pie of yours....only I've found it "impossible" to actually make with my five million substitutions ;) . I am, however, planning on chowing down on pumpkin filled wontons for dinner.
Hope your mouth is feeling better...when I had my wisdom teeth pulled I ended up with "dry sockets" and the memory - ten years later - is still painful. Glad you didn't run into that bit of fun.
Noeleen - June 12, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)
Ahhhhhhhhh ok Shy , thanks , we call it Risoni :)

shygemini - July 9, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
I feel like my eating is going out of control lately.
I'm going to try keeping this food diary again as an attempt to stay on track..
I'm really embarrassed but here is what i ate today:
Breakfast- 2 cups cheerios, 1 extra small banana, 11 whole almonds, 1 cup 1% milk (this is fine, about 499 calories)
Snack- Low fat/calorie blueberry muffin (122 calories)
Lunch- Hamburger (homemade), wholewheat bun, ketchup, mustard, fried onions
about 1/2 cup bean salad
Limeade (2 cups)
1/2 cup frozen yogurt
Snack- Limeade (2 cups)
hummus (1/2 cup)
3 ryvita crackers (100 cal)
Supper- about 4 ounces broiled steak
about 2 cups potato cubed/baked
about 1 cup cooked carrots
2 cups milk
Snack- muffin (122 calories)
2 scones (with raisins and butter)
tea with milk and honey
calories- 2727
This is seriously not good! And i don't even know if i for sure listed everything...
I know that the obvious thing to really fix up my calories quickly is...take out the limeade!! I had like 400 calories of limeade, totally unnecessary...that is what i'm going to eliminate first. Well and the ice cream. :grrrrrr:
They always say the first step to fixing something is to admit it!
I just think i need to keep track of food again for awhile.
shygemini - July 9, 2007 05:11 AM (GMT)
wow, i totally just had a brainwave!
i have been eating like this since friday.
Thursday i found out that my friend that was supposed to be coming into town wasn't able to make it so he postponed until another weekend..
I see the connection so clearly all of a sudden..i was upset he wasn't coming since i was really looking forward to it, so i did my old thing of turning to food to fill the void!!!!!!!
It seems painfully obvious now, i was eating when i wasn't hungry, and it didn't seem like i ever wanted to stop eating ...yes!!! :bouncy: :bouncy:
The important thing is that i have realized i am doing this and now i can fix it no problem! :wooohooo:
purrrple - July 9, 2007 08:11 AM (GMT)
Shy, I'm so glad that you have come to that realisation!!! and in the future you'll be able to change the way you are feeling and the way that you control those feelings...without food :huggs:
:yourock:
now I just wish I could figure out why I've been eating chocolate and chippies every day/night for the past few weeks! This is my first day without having any! Go me! B)
shygemini - July 9, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
thanks purrple! :huggs:
you are totally right. This is exactly what happened to me in the past and how i balloned up to 265lbs (or maybe even more, who knows!)...the difference there is i let it go on for hm, 6-8 months instead of simply 3 days...so i'm getting better at realizing it :danceparty:
I'm doing OK today, not great..
So far:
Breakfast- 2 raisin scones (no butter)
Snack- Coffee (12 ounce) with 1/8 cup 2% milk, 2 sugar packets
Dessert cup (not sure on the calories, it was some sort of pudding with canned cherries on top that i didn't eat, and then graham crumbs on the bottom, ate about 1/8 cup of those and 1/2 cup pudding)
I just didn't see anything at the cafeteria that i wanted to buy for a snack, and i didn't like the dessert cup much either.. i HAVE to bring a midmorning snack for the rest of the week, that's my challenge.

Hope you are feeling better Shy. You are doing great and your ticker is really heading down! I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out I was still living with my parents. My mother was putting everything in the blender for me. I had her put Chef Boyardee ravioli even. My favorite were canned plums. Also some baby food was on the menu. Hopefully you don't have to endure too much longer. Take care.
shygemini - July 12, 2007 03:25 AM (GMT)
awwww ty mpowers :huggs:
as it has now been over a month since my surgery, i can eat completely normally (finally!!!). Things do get stuck in the sockets almost anytime i eat but i just have to remove them afterwards, its not a huge deal.
One thing i've noticed is that i used to always clench and grind my teeth at night, i'd wake up and i'd be doing it...and that has stopped...obviously that was due to pain from my teeth!! I'm glad i finally got it done.

today was SUCH a bad day foodwise. I don't even want to p ost what i ate.
Sigh.
I am taking this as an experience, i didn't enjoy what i ate just now, and it was interesting as i used to always really like it ...so i don't think i'll be tempted to get it again in the future.
Tommorow is another day a nd i'm determined to be on track.
Its hard to eat properly when it is so SO hot outside. :grrrrrr:
