Title: Jaxx's Journal
Happyjaxx - July 7, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
Just looking for a place to post everything in one place and figured this spot might be ok as this will be my personal daily dose of motivation
I've been having difficulties staying motivated, partly due to work and school, but also due in part to my inability to schedule myself properly. So tomorrow will be Day 1 and I will post my daily stuff here, which will also give me some accountability ;)
Happyjaxx - July 7, 2007 02:22 PM (GMT)
I only have a little over a month until I graduate!! :danceparty: And so school has become increasingly more intense as my willingness to stay focused has continually been decreasing. I've got a couple of hectic weeks ahead and I know that the only way that I will be able to handle them is by treating myself well and exercising. I am also hoping that exercising will relieve some of the anxiety I have about my future and the big life decisions that I am going to be making over the next few months...more about that later
Day 1
1. get 7-8 hours of sleep. That means asleep around 12 and up no later than 8
2. gym time-cardio routine
3. EAT BREAKFAST
4. Work 12-6 and hit subway for lunch
5. Cook Dinner -fish, carrots, new potato
6. School project with group
7. in bed by 11
8. 96 oz of water
shygemini - July 7, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
ooooo best of luck!
:danceparty:
i used to schedule stuff pretty specifically when i was doing my BSc...hopefully it helps you!
purrrple - July 8, 2007 02:32 AM (GMT)
Good luck Jaxx!!! :huggs:
Happyjaxx - July 8, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
Thanks ladies!
Well Day 1 went well. I have accomplished everything except the gym :( and water, but will get my water intake by the end of tonight. I ate well today, but only took in about 1600 calories. I think I am going to shoot for anywhere in between 1500 and 2000. This way it is not so obsessive, but I am still in a healthy range as my tendency is to undereat. I know that once i get my metabolism rolling, I will be hungry more often and that will help speed things along.
Day 2
1. 8 hours of sleep
2. pack lunch for work tomorrow
3. Work
4. Gym
5. School
6. Water
7. Breakfast
Happyjaxx - July 14, 2007 01:41 PM (GMT)
So I've been doing quite well lately. I have been hitting the majority of my goals on a daily basis as they don't change too much from day to day. I would like to concentrate a bit harder on my water intake as I have been having a hard time hitting 96 oz lately. I have however traded in my regular soda for diet so I guess that is going well.
I'm planning on weighing in this week which is a bit scary. I am not sure exactly where I am. I know that I put some pounds back on and am well above what my ticker is currently showing. I guess I just gotta get on the darn thing and open my eyes this time
This weeks plan:
Exercise: Sun, Tues, Thurs, Friday or Sat (or both if i feel up to it)
Bring lunch 5 times this week.
Cook dinner 5 times this week.
On another note...I absolutely can not believe that I graduate in less than a month. Every day I get more excited and every day more work piles up! :bouncy:
TeachX3 - July 14, 2007 01:50 PM (GMT)
I am glad things are going well for you!! :cheer: Keep it UP girl!
shygemini - July 14, 2007 05:11 PM (GMT)
sounds like you are doing great jaxx!
congrats on graduating! it is a great feeling to be done :danceparty:
triscuitwafer - July 14, 2007 05:43 PM (GMT)
Good job Jaxx! I think I will run into the same challanges when I start school. I am looking exercise as a way to de-stress so maybe that will help. I know school will be stressful so maybe my exercise will actaully increase! :happydance:
Happyjaxx - July 21, 2007 10:02 PM (GMT)
So I weighed in Thursday at 207lbs. I knew I was up as I had been eating badly and not exercising a bit. My goals this week are to go grocery shopping and prebag as much stuff as possible so I can grab and go in the morning. I got to the gym Thursday and plan to go tomorrow (Sunday), Monday, and Tuesday with my next weigh in being thursday. I also need to concentrate on my water intake and be as diligent about that as possible.
I guess my current challenge is to get under 200 lbs for my weigh -in on August 9th. That's three weeks from my initial weigh-in date and I hope is pretty doable being that it's just over 2 lbs a week.
I've begun scheduling everything including sleep and ecercise again and I hope that it will help like it has in the past.
purrrple - July 22, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
Good luck with it all jaxx! :huggs:
Happyjaxx - July 27, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)
SO I weighed in today at 207 AGAIN!! :grrrrrr: But is it TOM and the first day at that so I was definitly feeling like a beach ball all day  I'm just going to keep my head up, have a good week and hope to see a nice loss next week.
SCHOOL IS CRAZY!!! I can not believe how busy I am and will be over the next week. I can't wait to graduate, but I'm definitly gonna miss it!!!
ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT!!! :danceparty: :happydance:
shygemini - July 28, 2007 03:50 AM (GMT)
WOOHOOO getting close to the end jaxx!!!
You will miss it when you are done, but you'll always have the memories :fantastic:
Best of luck for this week!
Happyjaxx - August 4, 2007 04:30 PM (GMT)
So i weighed in thrusday at 205 so that was a 2 lb loss. I'm not sure if it will stay that way though as I have been at the library from 8 am - 2am eating the crappy stuff they have on campus. If I gain, I gain. Not much more I could do as i really feel like I did my best.
One week left!! :danceparty:
Princess2one - August 4, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
Congrats on the loss. :happydance: :cheer: :happydance:
purrrple - August 5, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)

shygemini - August 6, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
congrats on the loss and best of luck studying! :danceparty:
Happyjaxx - August 13, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
Thanks for all the encouragement guys!
Well i did it! I got everything done and walked across the sxtage friday night! My girl friends and I were all smiles of course and then the whole weekend was spent with my family and friends at the beach! It was the first time in 7 years that I had taken a vacation lol. We partied and had pina coladas by the pool and everything.
Weight wise I just had to take a break. My best friend Jess whom was in one of my classes that was keeping us at the library from dawn till dusk said this:
"They told us abut the freshman 15...but failed to mention the 20 pounds you
gain during the last 2 weeks before you graduate!"
Oh how true! I didn't gain 20 but definitly put myself back up there. I plan on weighing in thursday like normal, but I'm expecting to be back up over 210. No worries though as I did my best with the pizza and crap that was the only things available at school.
My personal gaols this week are to set new goals for myself personally, spiritually, monetarily etc. School had been my goal for so long that I now need a new start!
shygemini - August 14, 2007 04:22 AM (GMT)
:congratulations: on finishing school!
lol at what your f riend said, its so true...i had so many things going on the month before graduation..i was going all hours of the day and night, eating like crap, and not exercising at all (not that i exercised much at that point in my life anyway).
best of luck with the weigh in, and making new goals sounds great! :huggs:
TeachX3 - August 14, 2007 04:42 AM (GMT)
:congratulations: to you... May your future be so bright, you must always wear your shades! B)
purrrple - August 14, 2007 05:45 AM (GMT)
Hey Jaxx, awesome that you've graduated :congratulations: you'll be back on track in no time :huggs:
Happyjaxx - August 14, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
Thanks you guys! I weighed in yesterday at 208.8 and then this morning at 206.8. I know i didn't loose 2 lbs overnight, but most likely its all water and my body getting rid of all the crap in my system as I started eating well again yesterday and adjusting itself. Point here for me is that I basically maintained while eating like a little oinker  Which to me is absolutely wonderful!! :happydance:
I'm tracking my daily weight with the google tracker (thanks shy) and will use my thursday morning weigh-in for my tracker here. I'm not going to pay too much attention to my daily weight, just the overall moving average like the tracker says. It makes sense to me as it can be a daily motivater and then my weigh-in on thursday will be my recorded number.
Off to the grocery store to stock up my fridge! Have a great day everyone! You guys ROCK!!!
shygemini - August 14, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
fantastic! surprises like that are always welcome- i guess you didn't do as much damage as you could have :danceparty:
Happyjaxx - August 15, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
Back to the basics!
I went to the store yesterday and got lots of yummy veggies and fruits and pre bagged everything for a quick grab.
This week I want to concentrate on my water intake. I have realized that my water intake is no where near what it used to be and I feel that this is just as important as anything else, especially with the crazy heat we've been having down here lately. My goal is 8-10 glasses a day for this week, and eventually getting back up to the gallon I was drinking before.
I will continue to eat healthy this week and start counting calories soon.
Happyjaxx - August 17, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
:wooohooo:
I had my water intake down by 2pm today!!! Did well with that one and hope to keep it up tomorrow! :happydance:
Happyjaxx - August 17, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
Day 2: water intake exceeded!
shygemini - August 18, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
great job with the water jaxx! :danceparty:
Happyjaxx - August 18, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
Thanks Shy!
The water thing has quickly come back as I used to drink 1-2 gallons a day not too long ago.
I'm adding a sleep goal to my list this week. My goal is to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
I tend to do better on a schedule so I am slowly building one, one step at a time.
TeachX3 - August 18, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
Awesome job on the water Happyjaxx! I need to get in gear on that too!! :D
Happyjaxx - August 21, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
Bad Day: :grrrrrr:
I've been doing great on my water and sleep up until yesterday
Yesterday morning I weighed in at 208.6 which was 2 lbs up from what I have been weighing in at all week. No worries, I looked at the calendar and realized that I am in the last few days before TOM and chalked it up to that. Well, then yesterday I didn't get my water and had a little more salt than normal and this morning I weighed in at 210.2! :grrrrrr: I know that my weight can fluctuate a bit day to day and especially right before TOM but how do you not let it get to you. Honestly I have enjoyed weighing in every morning until now. I have to figure out how to turn this into a motivator rather than a reason to say "to hell with it all". I get the theory behind weighing in everyday and I like it...after all it's basic math and to me math makes sense. Oh well, on track today again. I think I'm gonna give it a few more days and then start concentrating on exercising again.
TeachX3 - August 21, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
:huggs: I hear ya! I think we all know exactly how you are feeling... :huggs:
Just drink your water today and try your best, the bloating goes down as we all know and I have found that if I *keep on track* during the bloated, up in weight period of time, then when it is over I see a BOOM drop!! :bouncy: WOOOT!! I hope the best for you girl, hang in there and don't loose heart!
Happyjaxx - August 22, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
Thanks teach! I drank my water yesterday and did well with food. Weighed in this morning at 210.2 again so no change there. Between the scale and TOM i'm swtarting to get a bit down, but I know it will pass.
I'm gonna start counting calories because this is just getting ridiculous. I know diet is 90% so I just need to force myself to do it. I'm gonna find another site to count calories as fitday isn't as user friendly and write it down in a notebook that I can carry in my purse. I'm gonna aim for 2000 calories a day and go from there.
:arghhh: I'm just so frustrated.
shygemini - August 22, 2007 03:22 PM (GMT)
i k now that is really frustrating jaxx :huggs:
as mu ch as i hate calorie counting myself, i think it is one of the best ways to get back on track.
drinking water should definately help as well, and TOM i'm sure is responsible for some of those pounds.

i think you are doing great jaxx!
once you have been counting calories for awhile you'll get a really good sense of how you are doing during the day, and whether you need to eat more veggies, fruit, meat etc
one step at a time B)
