Title: Hello! Promise
Description: Starting over....
New_Gurly - July 12, 2007 04:42 AM (GMT)
Hello everyone! I am here because I need your help. I need you to help me stay motivated. I was a member on another site like this and met a lot of the same people that are here....I was Justonemore! I guess I should have used the name Just-two-more!!! This was supposed to be the amount of times it was going to take me to get on the right track and change my life.
I lost my mojo somewhere along the way and can't seem to find it! I look on here and see what a great job everyone is doing and feel so inspired...I couldn't help but sign up and ask for your help....I know you can help raise me up... :goodidea: I need cheerleaders :cheer: and I need friends like the great people here to keep me in line when I want to stray :grrrrrr:
I really need to change my life....I need to be around for me, my husband, and my eight year old beautiful daughter....plus I would love to have another...but I know this body of mine can't do the job of growing a baby... So yes, I do have high expectations...but shouldn't I???? You all do and look where it's getting you?!!
I am not sure of my current weight but I do know it is probably in the 280's. (I need to buy new batteries for my scale). I know I have my work cut out for me but I am dedicated to this. Shy has been such an inspiration to me...We started up at about the same time on the other site..and she has been such a trooper and stuck with it through the thick and thin....I unfortunately am stuck in the thick!!! Shy, I am so proud of your devotion!! You rock  !!!
Thanks for supplying us with such a great site to promote each other and build each other up!
Wish me well?!?

Hey new Gurly!!! Welcome :bouncy:
Glad you joined us and hope we can be a helping hand and great support for you! :D

Hey there and welcome New Gurly, you seem resolved to sort your weight loss and very positive...that stands you in great stead for success! I started 20 pounds heavier than you and reading your post def reminds me of how determined I was from the outset. That never really wavered, although I would have bad days from time to time. Once those pounds really start coming off it is self perpetuating and you want and need to keep going. Expectations are what keep many of us going; we expect to see the changes and lose the inches, feel healthier, look better.
I look forward to seeing your progress and we are all here to support one another through the tough times and the good times :)

Welcome aboard. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I think most of us have been there with some restarts and bumps in the road. I think the biggest idea to get out of your head is that the "DIET" will finish. Lifestyle changes keep going! I think each and everyone of us has developed their own personal method and plan. Even the calories you need vary from person to person (and often when you do it the right way starting out you can eat alot more then you think, especially if you also exercise. Many of us here do a weekly weigh-in - it really helps keep you accountable and helps you realize that all of us have weeks where we lose (yippee) and weeks where we gain or stay the same but with everyones encouragement it's much easier to stay on track.
:congratulations: On a new start!!!
New_Gurly - July 14, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
Thank you soooo much for the warm welcome. You all are so great. :huggs:
I know this isn't going to be easy but it's so nice to know I am supported here. I guess we are all in the same boat...ohh...I can't swim... so maybe I should say that we have a lot in common
I am running errands tomorrow and will be picking up new batteries for my scale...YUCKKY. The moment of truth...and it's my TOM...DOUBLE YUCKKY!! I guess that's a great time to weigh in for the first time...super bloated!!! It can only get better, right?!?
My game plan for tomorrow....
I am going to wake up early (Yes, I know it's Saturday :(
I have a notebook ready for food journal and exercise log-which I hate to do- but know for a fact that if I have to write it down..I am a lot less likely to eat too much of all the wrong things and won't skip the exercise. And I cleared my treadmill miles so that tomorrow I am starting from fresh. Tonight I am going to organize all my workout dvds and write up a weeks worth of plans for what type of exercise I am doing for the week. Lucky for me my flowerbeds are begging for the weeds to be pulled too!
So now I have a plan, I have the means, I have the drive, and I have great friends to help....Look out scale here I come!!!

New_Gurly - July 15, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
Well, I ran my errands and bought some new batteries for my scale....my current weight is 276....I guess it's better than I thought...I was thinking about 10 lbs. higher. I did get some time on the treadmill today but realize it has been awhile since I've been there. Hoping to get more time on it tomorrow.
Also went to the grocery and bought a lot of fruits and veggies. Totally skipped the snack aisle...ie, chips, dips. And instead of ice cream I bought sugar free fudge bars...I know it's not a frozen fruit bar but it's a step in the right direction.
Thanks for all the great support you've all given me in just the first day.
shygemini - July 15, 2007 06:16 PM (GMT)
definately a nice start to be lighter then you thought you were! :wooohooo:
Sounds like you have a good start, bought some healthy things...nothing wrong with sugar free bars, good step..i bought some pure fruit frozen bars the other day at costco, just fruit, no additives, and very good (50cal/ bar)
Take your time getting back into exercise, it is hard when you are just starting up again. I took about a month off recently and getting back into it was a slow process and i took it easy instead of pushing myself to the limit like i usually do...now i'm back to normal :danceparty:

New_Gurly - July 19, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
Thanks!!! You all are so great....I hope I do you all proud!!! The thought of having another child is great motivation....especially when somewhere in the distance (hopefully far distance) I can hear the tick of a clock!!!
I have done pretty well this week...not as good as I can do but definitely stepping in the right direction.
Plan on doing my weekly weigh-ins on Mondays. So I guess this Monday will be the true test.
We like going camping so I have already given in to the healthy way and made of list of foods to pack.. fruits, veggies, turkey burgers.
All the bad things can stay at the grocery! :joker: (I love this guy!!)
Thanks again for all the kind words...they really lift me up!
