Title: cherriterri's exercise journal
Cherriterri - May 22, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
my new exercise journal!! Dance Party
My goal is to do cardio 3 to 4 hours a week over 5 to 6 days each week.
I also want to add more weight training into my routine and work on doing more for my abs.
TeachX3 - May 22, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)
Do you like both cardio and strength training Cherri? Which is your preferred method of each? I hope the best for you on your goal girl!!
Cherriterri - May 22, 2007 04:57 PM (GMT)
I have to admit i very much prefer cardio over weights right now. I use my treadmill for the most part but I would like to start swimming as well.
I have done a little bit of weights kind of on and off because I honestly do not enjoy it at all but I want to do it because muscle burns way more calories just to maintain than fat does.
TeachX3 - May 22, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Ya, I love cardio... treadmill, (any walking), dancing, swimming, tennis (a new love)... whatever! I love it all! :)
I'm with you on the weights... :P
shygemini - May 22, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
i think weights grow on you over time. I like seeing how i improve, how i can lift heavier weights, feeling the burn from lifting weights the next day. I guess i'm the opposite to the two of you, loving weights and disliking most cardio! We can learn from eachother! B) :D
Cherriterri - May 22, 2007 05:53 PM (GMT)
30 mins on the mill today.
Total Cardio this week - 1 hour
Shy, I wish I could learn to like the weights. I just keep forcing myself to do it because I know it is good for me. Maybe when I see more results, like you are talking about I may change my mind.
Now I have to run - It is election day here in good old Manitoba and I need to get out there and vote!!
Cherriterri - May 23, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
45 minutes on the Mill with incline today. Feels pretty good I think my legs are slowly getting used to exercise again.
Weights for arms.
Total Cardio this week - 1 hour 45 mins.
Cherriterri - May 24, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
It's 2:44 pm and I just crawled out of bed after a 16 hour marathon shift last night. I have to be back at work in 45 mins. I guess to day will be my rest day this week
purrrple - May 24, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
Wow Cherri, you're a working machine! but you probably need a hug Huggs ;)
TeachX3 - May 24, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)
All that work does not sound like much of a rest day!
Here's one from me too! Huggs

sigh....i don't know why those in the health profession have such rotten hours. Well ok, i know it is due to staff shortages, but really it isn't healthy..it seems counterproductive. I am sure you get alot of exercise on your shift in any case, and don't worry about no "official" exercise today. Huggs
Cherriterri - May 25, 2007 05:07 AM (GMT)
I cannot tell you how much I needed those hugs!! Thank you all. I had a rough day at work and felt like crying all the way home and you guys really have made me feel much better!
Cherriterri - May 25, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
One hour on the mill with incline today and I am a very sweaty stinky girl!! :P
total cardio this week 2 hours 45 minutes. This means with a workout tomorrow I will be able to meet my minimum goal this week!!!
shygemini - May 25, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
that's great cherri, i'm proud of ya! :) Wooo Hooo
purrrple - May 26, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
Cherriterri - May 26, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
thanks guys. It felt amazing to get back on the mill for that long and really feel like I have done something today.
I took a little day trip to North Dakota too and tried on a bunch of clothes and It was interesting seeing myself in the full length mirror. It was almost like I didn't recognize myself. I actually had some girly curves starting to be noticeable and the stuff that I tried on was 2 sizes smaller than the last time I was down in North Dakota. I actually teared up a bit when I was trying stuff on!
TeachX3 - May 26, 2007 01:51 PM (GMT)
Wooo Hooo That is awesome girl!! I am so happy for you!! :D
Cherriterri - May 26, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
Thanks Teach! It was a good feeling.
shygemini - May 26, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
wow cherri that is great!
sometimes we don't realize the changes in our body until we go shopping and oh...my regular size doesn't fit... B) That's great! I hope you got some nice things :)
Cherriterri - May 26, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
The funniest thing Shy, is all I bought was on T-shirt and a pair of socks!!! I didn't want to buy to much because I am hoping that what fits now will not fit soon. I have quite a bit of summer clothes that were too small last year that fit now so I am just making do this year. I was just happy things fit!
Dance Party
shygemini - May 26, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
LOL well i understand that, it isn't worth wasting alot of money on stuff that won't fit for long.
:)
I know what you mean about the summer clothes. I had a bunch of shorts that i had grown out of...now i can wear them again :D
Cherriterri - May 26, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
YAY!! I kind of like the idea of being able to go "shopping" in my own closet. :D
I am saving up a bit for the fall though because after this season I have no smaller clothes and I would like to be a size smaller by the fall so I will have to buy some clothes at that point.
purrrple - May 27, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
What a nice feeling Cherri, good for you girl! :D
Cherriterri - May 27, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
30 minutes on the mill today with incline.
Planting the flower beds in the backyard for 3 hours!! ( does this count as exercise? Well, I'm gonna count it because I was SWEATING!!)
Total Cardio this week = 3 hours 15 minutes!! :D
PS - Thanks for sending some sun Shy!!
Cherriterri - May 28, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
No exercise today. Appointments and such took up most of my morning and early afternoon and now I have to head to work.
Today is the start of a new week and my goal is to do 3-4 hours of cardio this week and weights 3 times this week.
shygemini - May 28, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
congrats on meeting your goal last week for cardio, and best of luck for this week!
i'm kind of regretting sending you my sun as we no longer have any!! it is dreary and raining out :P
Cherriterri - May 28, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
Thanks Shy. I find it really helps to keep me motivated when I set some definite goals for the week.
Sorry about the sun, but we only had it for a day!! It is cloudy and drizzly today again. I think it is supposed to be like this for a few days again. :(
shygemini - May 28, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
ugh, same here on the weather :(
Cherriterri - May 29, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)

good start on your weekly challenge! :) Rubbery legs are always a good sign after exercising. Wooo Hooo
Cherriterri - May 29, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Oddly enough I have actually learned to enjoy the rubbery legs :D Makes me feel like I have done a really good workout!!
NicC - May 29, 2007 10:19 PM (GMT)
You are doing so great with the cardio - you must be proud you can do up to an hour and with an incline! Good Job!!! Wooo Hooo
Cherriterri - May 30, 2007 05:12 AM (GMT)
the incline really adds a challenge to the workout but it feels really good when it is done. When I first started the incline though I oculd only do it for a short period of time but now I use the incline almost the whole time.
Cherriterri - May 30, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
One hour and fifteen minute on the mill with incline today. My legs and but feel a bit wobbliy now but really good at the same time.
Total cardio this week = 2 hours!
shygemini - May 30, 2007 07:19 PM (GMT)
wow cherri!
That is a LONG time on the treadmill, congrats!
You are going to reach your weekly cardio goal with no problems this week it seems! Dance Party
Cherriterri - May 30, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
It appears I am already more than halfway there!!! LOL
I am anticipating not being able to do much over the weekend since I work this weekend so I thought I would do a bit more now that I have a bit of time.
NicC - May 30, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Good thinking Cherri - you'll be glad you planned ahead!
