I was just wondering how everybody came up with their screen name.

My screen name is actually my nickname. Everybody at work calls me Cherriterri. I find it amusing because it usually gets some interesting looks from my patients when a co-worker walks in and calls me Cherriterri.

My name is because I love the colour purple and thought I'd jazz it up like a cat purrring ;)

I am Teach Times Three because I have 3 kiddos and we have been a homeschooling family since 1998.
My online identity has been TeachX3 since I first logged on to the WWW in 2000 and I have gone by no other ID, so I am easy to track! ROFLOL!! :P

Thanks Teach, that was when I was blonde and had long hair. Now my hair is short and dark. I have a blonde dye sitting in my bathroom waiting for me but haven't decided whether to go back blonde yet. Growing my hair out long again though ;)

You look lovely in that pic purrrple! Have fun growing your hair out, my preference for my own has always been long (below shoulders)...have never had short hair (short enough so i can't tie back in ponytail)...maybe someday!

I understand the Shy thing too. I have always been pianfully shy but getting better as I get older. I guess there is no choice sometimes. I do find the forums easier to express myself than in person as well.


I love changing my hair all the time. Right now I have shoulder length almost white blonde hair but I tend to grow my hair out and then chop it off short and change the colours all the time. Last crazy colour I had was blue but the blue dye does not last all that long.

Thanks for the compliment Shy! It took me years to get the courage to cut my hair short and everybody loved it short but I want to grow it again now.

A change is as good as a holiday! ;)

Cherrie, you sound like me with the colours! The freakiest i've had my hair is purple/black. haha I might even get the courage to do that again...that was a few years ago now! But as you said all those sorts of colours don't last.

My hair has been green and when I leaned against the wall in my high school lunch room, it blended in! Yep, back in the day, I used to do some strange things to it (you can thank Cyndi Lauper for that :lol:)... But now a days, it is just salt & pepper with mostly salt ;) I have been grey headed since 6th grade and I love it!

I was thinking about it... what the heck will I call myself in about 5 years when I have no more kids at home to teach?? *eek*

I was going to get more creative with my screen name on this forum but everyone here already knows me by mpowers so I kept it. My secret identity is Melanie but shhhh- don't tell anyone.

Righ was the name of my first dog, its from old irish/scottish for monarch or sovereign :)

But I dont think of myself as a sovereign but I am a bit of a dog i suppose hehe

Well you can blame this forum and Cherrie for this! I DYED MY HAIR TODAY! Purple of course ;) Will have to take a photo of it and post it. hmm but it didn't come out as purple as I wanted it :( the colour said "cyber purple" LOL

Well, it is done purrrple. A good chunk of my hair is now blue!! I like it quite a bit. I have found with these colours you have to leave the dye in longer than the 20 mins it recommends. I usually leave it in for about 40 mins and the results are much better.

lol. You all are so fun. I am glad to be with such down to earth easy to talk to people! As I said in my intro. My screen name is my nick name given to me by my mom. Triscuitwafer was her favorite cracker. I started using this screen name just after she passed away. It's my way of holding on to it. No one else ever called me Triscuitwafer and I was sad and crying one day and said "Who will call me triscuitwafer now?" And I thought, "I don't want to give it up so I will start using it" It worked cause now some of my siblings will use it when adressing me :D

HeHe! I've had my hair pink and blue before and they don't react well to it at all!!

Usually I hear "What the heck did you do that to yourself for? That looks terrible!!" I just have to laugh.

This makes me think of one patient I had a couple of years ago though. She was 82 and I was helping her get undressed and into a hospital gown and I saw she had 2 tattoos on her back. One was a bumble bee and the other a butterfly and they looked really new so I asked her about them. She said she had wanted a tattoo her entire life but somebody always stopped her so she went out on her 80th birthday and got 2!!! I thought she was so amazing because so many people use their age as an excuse not to do things and here she was doind exactly what she wanted to do!

Dying hair is fun! I had long, long hair for many years...in fact most of my life but last year, along with my new bod, I took the plunge and got it cut short. I liked it short, it is growing out now although it is still pretty short. It is black at the moment but would love purple or red streaks!

Well, mine is pretty simple, my first name is Sarah & when I moved to Paris I thought up this id for a different forum... and it stuck. I like it because it's relatively anonymous (there are millions of Sarahs) and yet it tells something major about me already (that I live in Paris). It's also almost always available in forums, which is nice, I dont need to worry about changing an ID from one forum to another.

This is a nice exercise, helps everyone to know each other a bit better!
