Title: I'm going to try something new

I am a patient person, as anyone who knows me will tell you.

However, i am getting a bit tired with being stuck at the same weight for a long time. Yes i like how i look, but i really want and need to keep losing at least until i get under 200lbs.

I sorted out my exercise and i've worked out a plan that i think should work for me (see exercise diary).

However i really haven't sorted out my food until now.

I've been doing some reading about plateaus and one of the things that keeps coming up is to zigzag your calories..eating a lower amount one day and then higher the next. I think this may be what will work for me; i've done it in the past unintentionally with good results.

I think i'll just do this in very general terms of :

low calorie: 1800-1900 ish

high calorie: 2400-2500 ish

And i'll let you guys know how it goes, keeping track of my progress here!

EDIT: I'm going to try doing one high calorie day and then 2-3 (probably 2) low calorie days as i've read this resets your metabolism the best. I'm not totally sure if my calorie values are correct but i'll give it a try and see what happens.

It's a good idea to trick your body Shy. Good luck with it :huggs:

Ooh I will be fascinated to see what happens Shy, good luck. I personally do buy into this form of weight loss. As we all know, it can be all too easy to get stuck in certain ruts with our diets and exercise so shaking things up this way could do you loads of favours. :happydance:

I agree! This sounds awesome and I look forward to your progress!

Good luck Shy! I think your plan sounds great and the best thing to do is to try something new.

Thanks all!

Yesterday was definately a high calorie day:

French onion soup, big oatmeal raisin cookie, 1/2 a piece of peanut butter cake, juice..

So today and tommorow are lower calorie days, eep!
