Thanks Shy! As you can see I'm big on snacking. I think that was my problem when I was away - meal times were inconsistent and the snacks were too available and uncontrolled.

mmmm fresh bread is one of my downfalls, with butter and jam...yum yum
how you managed to eat that and the chocolate and still keep your calories at a good level is amazing to me!
i'm curious what a "FSGB" is?
NicC - August 29, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
FSGB - fibre source granola bar ( I was getting too lazy to write it out everytime). Not sure how come the calories still turned out ok. I guess my body is learning. Also it replaced my afternoon snacks and I didn't have a morning snack today.
In any case, for myself I bought Reese's snacksters (100 cal baggies) and the some dark chocolate sticks (60 cal ea) - I avoided my biggest temptation (caramel anything) because I knew it would be too hard to control portion sizes. I did buy some stuff for baking since school starts next week. Dh got twizzlers (which I don't really care for) and cherry blossoms (of which I tried one but found too sweet not worth the 210 calories each to me). My 5 yr old gave me one chocolate raisin which I accounted for  as well.

NicC - August 31, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
Hi Teach, I had actually been tracking for a while but I thought posting here would give me an extra boost knowing you guys would read it. I think I still need to up the veggies and lower the treats.
shygemini - August 31, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
yeah- i think the closer you get to goal weight (assuming goal weight is in the normal BMI range), the more careful you have to be with your food choices. I suspect the last 20lbs or so are the worst...

Just curious... What are snacksters and vector? I'm quite surprised your soymilk is 50 cals; the low-fat soymilk I used to drink was around 100 cals per serve (250 ml cup). It was my first time trying soymilk about a month ago, and the taste was alright, but I found that it was higher in fat than cow's milk. I also had to read through every label because most had added vegetable oil and/or sugar. I agree, you do eat well! :)
NicC - September 1, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
HI Sapphire the soymilk is 100 cal/250 but I usually just have half a cup with my cereal. Vector is a cereal that has high added protein (they call it a meal replacement but it's cereal). Snacksters are little 100 cal snack packs (this one has 2 kinds of cereal, Reese's pieces and pb chips) - so calorie controlled treats.

Ok I couldn't get to sleep last night and I was craving sandwich meat and cheese very strongly - I couldn't resist and caved - It was past midnight so to save myself a pity party I'm counting it today as uncountable since I was on a cross-border shopping trip. I did ok till we went to pizza hut and had a late lunch (salad and a 10" pizza yikes - well at least I didn't eat all my salad dressing). More snacks on the way home and after I got home too... Don't know my total but I know it will be a HIGH ZAG DAY no doubt. Thank goodness it's Monday tomorrow and I will aim for low zigs the next few days (Thurs and Friday will be write-offs because of the wedding)

BACK to tracking tomorrow - I MUST stop eating all this junk. You would all be appauled if you knew how much chocolate I consumed in the last 12 hours.
I hate PMS! Plus I'm so tired from the wedding/travelling weekend I have noooo willpower. I skipped breakfast this morning - I feel very stupid right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

apparently the silhouette drink has 4.65 cal/500 ml so not too bad - don't think I'll buy it again, although I like the real splash of juice and Calcium/magnesium, it has sucralose -ick. Another indicator it's PMS time - craving for fizzy-junky drinks.
