Title: TeachX3's Food
TeachX3 - September 18, 2007 09:45 PM (GMT)
Ok I have never kept a food diary in my life... but I would like to try it. I'm not going to list the calories, I do not count calories very strict and I never log them, I just watch my portions and enjoy whatever food I want. I just want to make sure I eat a well rounded diet and hopefully you guys can give suggestions!
Edit: Water is the only thing I drink throughout the day, except at mealtime... I also try to have at least one glass of green tea each day.

Teach, I often hear miracle whip being talked about on the forums but can you please tell me what it is?
TeachX3 - September 20, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
Hey Purrrps :)
Miracle Whip is made by KRAFT ... it is a dressing, like mayonnaise, except I think better :) I eat the LIGHT version, 1 Tbsp is 20 calories ... it is good in noodles, sandwiches, etc... well, just as one would use mayonnaise I guess! :D

my thoughts on your food diary so far:
without knowing your portions, it seems to me that you are not getting enough veggie and probably not enough protein...again hard to say without the serving size
also i'm not sure about how much good fats you are getting so you might want to try to include more of those..
i think sept 18 and 19 were good food days, seems pretty balanced
just my ideas
:huggs:
TeachX3 - September 22, 2007 04:34 AM (GMT)
Thanks Shy, I really appreciate your input! :huggs: Yes, Sept 18 & 19 are more like my normal days. I normally have tomatoes each day and salad as well, but with the e coli scare lately, I have not been eating bag salad... but I get some veggies in soup and V8. I was on a carrot kick for awhile, but got burnt out. I get my good fats, Omega 3 and such, in margarine and doesn't peanut butter have good fats and is it not protein? Again, thank you girlfriend... you have always been such a wonderful help to me!

that's awesome that you have already picked out your supper before you go to the restaruant! less likely to be swayed by other things. I get really annoyed lately with the lack of nutritional info given by restaurants here, and trying to order things you think are healthy and finding out they are not :(( I am thinking that in the near future the amoutn of nutritional info available will increase exponentially.
TeachX3 - September 25, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
Yeah Shy, that combo is probably my most favorite! :D It is probably not 'calorie friendly', but I don't really care!
Well last night, in addition to my normal exercise of stretches, 30 minutes cardio, etc... I spent 3.5 hours walking around a store while my kids 'camped out' in line for the release of Halo3 at 12:01 AM, so I got extra exercise and they got their game! We came home and I was up for an hour or so on the PC and then my hubby *ehum* kept me up for another hour or so... so I did not get to go to sleep until about 4:00 AM. My kids stayed up all night long, drinking high energy sodas and eating junk (a very rare treat) while they had a Halo3 party and they did not go to bed until 6 AM... they are currently sleeping at 1:47 in the afternoon!!

Well, my favorite way (and usually the only way) I eat my grilled cheese sandwich is: Once it is done cooking, let it cool for a bit on the plate, but not too long, and then open it up and add a fresh cold slice of tomato! YUM YUM YUM :D

SO, because I was busy running around taking them to work, picking up flowers, picking them up from work, running them to get something to eat and then taking them 45 miles away to the town where the school is, I UGH did not eat very well today... :(
