Title: October Challenge
Description: Currently in a rut

Happyjaxx - October 5, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
I want to try and do a monthly challenge in hopes that I can get "out of my rut and into a rythym".

1. Log Calories everyday in Food diary.

2. Exercise 3x a week and log it in.

3. Get under 200 lbs by the end of the month.

I'm gonna weigh-in in the morning and see where I'm at.

Thanks ladies!

I'm bouncing between 205-208 on my scale so I am thinking that i can get down to 200 or less by the end of the month.

I printed out the new class schedule for my gym and have decided which classes I'm gonna go to when. I'm even trying to adjust my work schedule so I can go to more for the month of november.

Eating has been a bit difficult as I haven't made it to the grocery store this week yet, but I'm off tomorrow so I will stock up then. Working in the malls and strip centers is rough when it comes to lunch sometimes, but I've been sticking to subway when possible so I'm not doing too horrible.

Well, I'm doing okay on my goal. I'm logging my calories even when I'd rather hide. Going to the grovery store today FINALLY!!! And I'm on my way to a body step class!

Happy Monday everyone!

Well my October challenge got derailed by this bug that I caught. That's okay though. I have been getting a lot of much needed rest and relaxation and have also been smoke free for 5 days. I am hoping to get back to the gym Thursday as I hope that I will have this congestion in my chest cleared by then. I am also going to log my calories starting tomorrow.

I don't think that I will be under 200 lbs by the end of October but I am still aiming to get as close as possible.

I know i've done it myself at times, but i really think it is best to make goals in terms of exercise or nutrition rather then reaching a certain weight. Our bodies don't always react as they "should" even when we do everything right :huggs: If i do make a pound goal, i try not to put a deadline on it...as i like to have goals which, while they are tough, are still definately achievable.

I think it is great that you have been smoke free for 5 days! :D I'm also happy to hear you will be heading back to the gym on thurs most likely, as that means you are feeling better. :huggs:

WOOOHOOO smoke free!! I hope the BEST for you on that girl!! :huggs: I agree with Shy... if you do not make it to under 200 by the end of this month, at least you will know you are MUCH healthier than you were!! YAY!! :D

Thanks ladies! I'm pretty excited myself  . I ended up trying the drug chatix and it was a miracle drug. As much as the drug takes your mind off smoking there are still times when it takes will power lol.

As far as being under 200lbs is concerned I'm really not worried about it. The way I look at it is that October was the month for me to get all my ducks in a row. I got over my anxiety and went to some classes at the gym, quit smoking, got the flu over with for the winter season lol, got organized etc. This way there is nothing stopping me now :D

I'm planning on weighing in at the gym on Thursday before class. ANd whatever number comes up, comes up. I have found that weighing everyday gets to me. I'm thinking that if i use the scale at the gym that when I want to weigh-in I will at least have to go to the gym to do it.

Unfortunately I am not breathing well enough to go to a class at the gym, but I do plan on being as active as possible doing chores etc until i am. Also, back to counting the cals in my food diary so that is good.

something i do when i'm sitting at the desk here is to contract and relax my muscles in my thighs, calves, arms, back, abs etc... holding each for 10-15 seconds...i think it helps tone even though it doesn't take alot out of you and it might be something you could try since you aren't well enough to get to the gym,.

Thanks Shy, i will have to try that today :goodidea:
