Title: Fruit Juice

My goal for the month of June is to stop drinking fruit juices. I really like juices and I know they are not the worst thing I could drink but they really are just liquid calories. I had never really thought about it before but I looked at the label on a bottle of juice and there is alot of calories in there.
Water Water Water, what else can I say?

maybe it is one of those things where you need to eliminate it completely for awhile, then when you had "kicked the habit" you can have fruit juice once in awhile.
When i first starting trying to be healthy i weaned myself off pop by drinking juices and milk. Then i realized juices had as much if not more calories then pop (i drank regular pop). So i would buy the "low calorie ocean spray cranberry cocktail"...i believe it is 40 cal/cup...and that helped alot. THen i diluted the cranberry juice by adding half juice and half water. Finally i just went to water. :)
Now i do drink juice at times but it amazes me just how sweet it is. Really the only kind of juice i have is my "pomegranate blueberry juice"...i'll have a cup and mix with a cup of club soda...it has lots of antioxidants so i don't think it is too bad.

Cherriterri, I enjoy some fruit juice too, my favorites are orange juice and cranberry juice. When I have some, I only have one serving size, usually 8 ounces and I count the calories as part of my daily intake. I usually have one or the other only once a day with breakfast...

I think you are right Shy, it is one of those things that I think I could add a little back once I get used to not drinking it. Right now though, I tend to grab a juice instead of water and I want to change that. The pomegranite blueberry juice sounds yummy though!

Cherri i'm so sorry, i hit the wrong button (i'm new at this moderating stuff) and instead of replying to your post i was editing it !!! LOL So i'm sorry, i went back and took off what i wrote, i didn't change anything you said, and it was unintentional.
Here is what i wrote:
Yep, i never thought i could stop drinking pop, now i don't care for it at all, only drink gingerale when stomach upset and other pop very infrequently.
The pomegranate blueberry juice is great, i think pomegranate on its own would be too tart, the blueberries add sweetness...but it is still tart lol thus the mixing with club soda. I buy the "purely juice" brand.

Good luck, Cherri. :) I don't really have fruit juice unless if I'm on the plane or visiting someone. My vice is coke zero lol. I love water though.

Well it's June 2 and I have not had any fruit juice this month so far!! LOL
I think my real challenge is going to be the road trip I am taking next week, I always drank tons of fruit juice while driving so I will have to change that to water.
