this week will be a challenge exercise-wise for me since i'm away for 3 days but i'm going to endeavor to get the 3 hours in before friday... :jumping:

I'm counting my walking to and from work as exercise...hope that is ok with everyone. It is afterall exercise, even though it is only 10 minutes each time. Therefore every 1 1/2 days i have 30 min of exercise from that, in addition to my gym workouts.

Anything that raises your heart rate is exercise...even if it is only 10 mins at a time... that counts!

LOL - I think shopping burns slightly more than 200 cal/hr so I think it should count for 0.5 or 1/3 - what does everyone else think???

terri you are doing great! you have got your water in everyday, and you have done 1 hour of exercise so far...very good! :huggs:
For the shopping, yes i think it would count as walking...of course you are not walking the whole time, but it would definately count for something...not sure exactly how much...hard to say!

Use your instincts on the shopping thing. I think it should count for something. If it were me I would put it down for an hour, but then I hate shopping so i don't know what 6 hours feels like. I'm one of those people that run in the store and right back out on schedule...I'm a planner. Actually it's probably that i work in a mall so it's kinda like going to work :(

OK on the shopping debate - when my friend and I go to the mall we tend to move pretty quickly (bargain hunting. lol). One time we went with her brother and his then girlfriend (now wife). We had gone around the mall twice before she even left the first store. After that he finally believed us that shopping is exercise and that was when I was near my heaviest weight! I think Cherri should be able to count at least 2 hours (1/3) since
that burns about 410 cal which is more than just walking for one hour.

Thanks Shy, I want to up the exercise next week as I think next week's challenge will be a bit difficult for me. I don't really count calories at the best of times, maybe I should actually try for once though.

yes i had a fantastic weekend, i ate whatever i w anted, and i came home 3lbs lighter...isn't life funny? :lol: i did get in quite a bit of walking as well...and i even managed to drink 2L of water on one day! :wacko:

So today was my first day at counting calories and it has been interesting. It is a bit weird to be totally accountable for what i am putting in my mouth. The good news is, my intake was 2217 which falls right in the middle of my goal of 2100 to 2400.

Hm yeah, it is sometimes hard to know what you should be doing...ultimately it depends on your body and what is best for you.
I made myself a new ticker, what do you thinK? :D I figure she's going to have to be working pretty hard to keep warm in all that snow..i see it as a graphical reminder of how i need to work hard to get to my goal.

Hey Purps, I am back. Been going through hell the past couple of weeks. Totally nasty situation at work that I can't even talk about. Lawyers and such are involved and it is going to stretch out for months before it is finished.
I need to get back to a normal life though and not fixate on the crap that is going on so I am going to try to get back to exercising and such.
