Title: POSITIVE AFFIRMATION THREAD
Description: Week 6 Bonus Challenge

flowerfluffgirl - December 10, 2007 06:56 AM (GMT)
Ok, I've decided to make a new thread for us to post our positive affirmations (compliments, comments etc) about ourselves for our WEEK 6 bonus challenge.

Each day post one positive comment about yourself. Each day will be worth 3 points.
If you are not part of the 8 week challenge, it would be great to have you join in anyway.

I know a lot of us are under pressure at the moment, so lets shift the main focus off weight loss and fitness this week and put it toward building up a great mental picture of ourselves.

;)

flowerfluffgirl - December 10, 2007 06:59 AM (GMT)
MONDAY: I am great fun! :bouncy:
TUESDAY: I am VERY patient with my husband! LOL.
WEDNESDAY: My children LOVE my cooking. :)
THURSDAY: My hubby says 'You got great shoulders' AND ' You have a positive unjudging attitude and you see the best in people besides your husband;...LOL!
FRIDAY: My beauty therapist commented that I look far too young to be married 10 years.
SATURDAY: Sitting in a taxi next to my stick thin friend when she said 'OH MY GOODNESS GIRL, when did you get the same size as me???' (Our thighs looked exactly the same side by side - I have lost lots of flab off my thighs recently hehe).
SUNDAY: I have the most wonderful friends a person could ask for!

flowerfluffgirl - December 10, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
You may be aware that some of us are currently participating in an 8 week weight loss and fitness challenge. We are now starting week 6. For this weeks bonus challenge, we are to post one positive comment/compliment about ourselves everyday. Even if you are not part of the official challenge, it would be great for everyone to join in this thread. You can find it in the CHALLENGES and GOALS section. Please please PLEEEEEASE join us this week! It will be wonderful to have you all participate.

MONDAY:

I did exercise today!!! and I loved it!!! I did 100 sit-ups, 10 girly push-ups and my 13yr old daughter came for a 2km run with me tonight...hopefully she will run with me every night now! :wooohooo:

Oh and my ticker has gone over 100km!!!! :danceparty:

Oh and I bought a new car!! :congratulations: I'm a proud mummy to a Mazda Capella :D

This is a good idea, Fluff. Believing in ourselves is so important and it is a constant struggle for so many of us to think good things about ourselves!

My affirmation might be a little unusual because I'm stealing a passage from a book I was reading .... it says this is good and I believe I do this:

"He must give to every person a use
value in excess of the cash value he receives, so that each transaction
makes for more life, and he must hold the advancing
thought so that the impression of increase will be communicated
to all with whom he comes into contact."

flowerfluffgirl - December 10, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
I like that!

flowerfluffgirl - December 10, 2007 11:32 PM (GMT)
Woohoo Purps!

shygemini - December 10, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
I am focused and determined to meet my deadline, rather then obsessing over how little time i have to finish, just getting things done. :happydance:

Happyjaxx - December 11, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
One of my friends sent me this text today and it made me feel better.

It is very hard to learn to trust or force others to take care of things themselves, but it is the best thing that you can do for them. It is easy to take care of things yourself to make sure its done right, but that is the worst thing you can do for somebody else. This truly is a hard yet valuable lesson...very tough and frustrating for you and them at first, but it will make you both better in the end.

Thanks to my friend!

Happyjaxx - December 11, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
What a great compliment Nic!!! I bet you were grinning from ear to ear :)

NicC - December 11, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
 Jaxx you were right I was grinning. But I almost cried yesterday when my son sang a couple of lines solo at the Christmas pageant...

purrrple - December 11, 2007 06:58 AM (GMT)
All your posts sound wonderful! and you're all wonderful!!! :huggs: :huggs: :huggs:

I exercised again today and my 13yr old daughter ran with me again. I love that she is hanging out with me and taking pride in keeping herself fit as well. Now my 8yr old wants to do it with us tomorrow! :wooohooo:

featherlitegal - December 11, 2007 04:59 PM (GMT)
Thanks Fluff. :)

I'll put in a more normal one since today is a new day ....

I am a proud that I eventually re-evaluate what I'm doing, and then start fresh, after a setback.

purrrple - December 11, 2007 05:43 PM (GMT)
That's a good one Feather! :huggs:

shygemini - December 11, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
I am proud that i now have goals to reach towards and have risen out of the depression i felt myself slowly sinking into the past few months. :fantastic: Looking back now, it is pretty scary.

NicC - December 11, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I'm proud that I walked in the snow today eventhough I really didn't feel like it.

flowerfluffgirl - December 11, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
I like it! :)

purrrple - December 12, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
I'm really happy that life seems to be going ok!!! I vacuumed out my old car today to get ready to sell. Now I have to give all the insides a wipe down with soap and water ready for my honey to silicone it. Will do that tomorrow :D

featherlitegal - December 13, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)
I just realized I was supposed to put my posts in the OTHER thread. Doh! If someone wants to move my comments that's great with me.

EDIT: Done! ;)

shygemini - December 13, 2007 04:36 AM (GMT)
another day another affirmation:

I'm proud that i was able to help so many students at their exam tonight. I like knowing my knowledge goes to use sometimes!

NicC - December 13, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
I'm proud that I finished another translation (after choosing freelance translation as a new career path, I was home with my kids for 10 years, this way I'm still home but starting to earn some money at the same time)

flowerfluffgirl - December 13, 2007 10:23 AM (GMT)
It's really uplifting to see everyone giving themselves some WELL DESERVED credit on this thread! I look forward to coming here everyday and seeing what cool things everyone has to post. It's great to have you guys participating here and I really think we should make this a regular thing!

PS...I just noticed today that I am a day behind! HAHAHAHA

flowerfluffgirl - December 13, 2007 10:28 AM (GMT)
LOL...That's ok. You can join us tomorrow n the other thread if you like. I would like to say that yesterdays post hit really close to home for me. Sometimes I used to pass re-evaluating as giving up, but sometimes you honestly have to re-assess where you're at and more often than not, it turns out for the better. Thanks for the push forward Feather! :)

TeachX3 - December 13, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)

Hey guys if you would like, I can merge this topic in with the other one... let me know a yea or nea ;)

featherlitegal - December 13, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
I'd vote yea.

NicC - December 13, 2007 05:30 PM (GMT)
The Earth must be spinning backward today, Fluff!!!

I got a compliment today. When I asked why I was returning the shopping cart to the drop-off (by the guy who brings them in) I said: "I'm getting exercise" He then said: " You don't need any" . LOL if only he knew... Actually just thought of a better one... I was helping my daughters teacher prepare a craft and I showed her how I found an easier way to do it - she asked: "Where have you been all these years?"

shygemini - December 13, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
what fantastic compliments nic!

i guess that is something for us to keep in mind, things aren't always as they appear!

purrrple - December 13, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)

purrrple - December 13, 2007 06:56 PM (GMT)
I got my Kit today to do my Real Estate papers. I'm going to do it by correspondence. I'm going to become a Real Estate Agent!!!! Woohoooo!!!!

I am proud to be babysitting again tonight even though it didn't go so well last time! I'm hoping things go better.

NicC - December 15, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
I'm proud I'm almost done my baking for the time being (since yesterday I made a triple batch of biscotti and dipped them in chocolate, a different batch of biscotti and drizzled with chocolate, yet another type of biscotti all for a cookie exchange - of course with all those batches I made enough to take to parents/in-laws too especially when added to the cookies I already have in the freezer) also made a batch of cupcakes to be decorated shortly for the German School Christmas Party tomorrow morning.

Hm I guess the real positive here is that there ARE cookies in the freezer (they are not all in my tummy...I did munch on rejects - yum).

Have fun babysitting Shy - you'll get the hang of it!

purrrple - December 15, 2007 09:11 AM (GMT)
I feel really good...I manged to get nearly all of my Christmas presents wrapped today and give my wardrobe a good tidy up now that it's alot emptier!!!
Then we all snuggled on the couch and watched a movie together tonight...The Game Plan...and ate snack biscuits  It was great!!! :D
