Title: CherriTerri 2008 New Start

Cherriterri - January 5, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
So I was going to drag my old exercise journal out of the archives but thought a new journal might be better.

I am going to continue with the weekly goals and slowly increase my exercise back to what I was doing before.

I am still going to continue with keeping track of kilometres instead of time and keep track on the map. My first goal is still to make it to Thunder Bay, even though I have been stalled out for a while.

My first week's goals starting on Monday Jan 7 are

Walk minimum of 15 kms.

The race is on Cherri

Cherriterri - January 5, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
Thanks All. Now I just have to start actually posting some exercise.

Cherriterri - January 22, 2008 10:20 PM (GMT)
Today I finally got back on the treadmill. I walked 3 kms and I will not lie it sucked! The first 20 mins felt like I was just coming out of hibernation (which, I suppose I am) and the second felt a little better but I wanted to stop many times. I didn't though. The only thing that kept me going was my ipod and I was really enjoying what I was listening to and did not want to turn it off.

I'm not going to set any specific goals this week other than to get back on the treadmill again.

Total kms this week - 3

NicC - January 23, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)

Cherriterri - January 23, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Thanks Teach and Shy.

Hopefully it will get easier from now on.

Cherriterri - January 26, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Today I walked 3 kms on the mill. It sucked a bit less than last time but it was still hard.

I have been contemplating some goals. Here are my rough thoughts.

1. Walk to my first distance goal of Thunder Bay by my Birthday (July)
2. Have the guts to dig my bike out of the garage in the spring and start riding it again. Maybe even to and from work by the summer.
3. start setting weekly goals slowly again.

NicC - January 26, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Sounds like a fantastic plan Cherri! Good news is cycling burns more calories.

TeachX3 - January 26, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)

Ooooh how I wished I lived in town (I'm a country gal, dirt roads and all) I would *love* to be able to ride a bike daily!! :cheer: Your goals sound super!

Cherriterri - January 26, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Thanks Nic and Teach. It is a bit scary to ride my bike in the city though. I live fairly close to the centre of the city and there is tons of traffic. Since we have such long cold winters most drivers are not used to bike riders on the road and often to not watch for them. I have been driven off the road a few times. I am always glad for my helmet!

Cherriterri - January 27, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
Ok, I am going to try setting some weekly goals again and see how things go.

I have an event to attend on April 12 so my new ammended distance goal is to walk to Thunder bay by then. That means 17kms a week which I think I a doable goal.

So my official goal for the upcoming week is 17 kms.

Cherriterri - February 4, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
3 kms on the mill today. I had some problems with shin splints again. I had these problems before when I tried to speed up too fast. I guess I have to slow it down a tiny bit until my legs get more used to the exercise again.

total kms this week - 3 of 17
