Title: BOCA Burgers
Description: Have you ever tried them?

I tried Boca Burgers for dinner tonight. I think there GREAT! THey taste like Burger Kings Whoppers. They have a flame broiled taste. I would recommend that everyone try these. They cook in the microwave in 1 min. 30 seconds, and have a great nutritional value.

Teach, It's "Boca Meatless Burgers" is the name brand (Its the only brand that I have seen) But it's Soy Protein. Also the have Boca Breakfast Sausage, I want to try that next. I think they also have Boca Brats and Hot Dogs, so there is alot to try.

I'm glad you enjoyed them princess!

Personally i don't like the way foods taste when they are microwaved and thus i don't use them...even though they are convinient!

P2O, girl I sure do appreciate you sharing, but I am worried... I have been researching soy... there are studies which show terrible consequences to eating soy. Have you researched it? Does anyone else have any information, positive or negative to help?

Here are some links to some of the info I have been reading:

http://www.westonaprice.org/soy/index.html

http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/

http://thyroid.about.com/cs/soysdownsides/

http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/index.htm

http://www.gi.alaska.edu/ScienceForum/ASF8/856.html

I am not saying it is bad, because I have not researched it fully and there are sites that say it is good as well. Just wanted to mention what I have learned thus far.

Teach after I posted this yesterday, I did a little research, because they had so many products, I wondered how much soy you should eat or if it mattered. I got mixed opinions about the product. I think one a week wont hurt. Has to be better for you than hotdogs. Let me know what you find out.

yep- the jury is definately still out about soy...i wouldn't say its a "miracle food" but it certainly isn't bad for you either...same as anything else, eat in moderation... :goodidea:

OK I have been doing some research about soy and it seems to come down to who you ask. Everything I read said it was "potentially" bad or maybe helpful. Nothing that really came out a said this is why its GOOD or this is why its BAD.

Alot of the articles where talking about "Soy Based Formula" and its effects on infants. Mainly theres not enough fat or vitamins to be used as a main food group.

Its genetically modified and it has one of the highest percentages of contamination by pesticides (unless you buy organic) is the reasons I found for it not being good for you.

The bottom line: If you buy organic its fine for you. If you buy regular it could have a harmful effect because of how its processed.
Price Differance: 4 regular Boca Burgers $2.50, 4 organic Boca Burgers $4.50.

This is just my research, so take it for what its worth.

take it from me...that's the trouble with research...the more you read about something, the more you realize that no one agrees with eachother

all you can do is analyze the facts as they are given, determine if what they are saying makes sense and make an educated guess :)
