Title: Jaxx's Food Diary
Happyjaxx - May 28, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
Well I have never been good at keeping a food diary, but I'm gonna try try and try again. I'm gonna count my calories at fitday.com, but I need to figure out how many cals I should be eating lol.
Happyjaxx - May 28, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
Alright so i hit a couple sites and it seems they are suggesting anywhere from 1900-2300 calories a day for a 1-2 lb weekly loss. I guess I'll just try to stay in that range for now and see what happens.
shygemini - May 28, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Sounds great! I'm eating about 2000-2200 calories a day and losing about 1.5lbs a week if it helps (with moderate activity).
Happyjaxx - May 28, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
Yeah I figured I try it out and see what happens :D
If it was an exact science we'd all be at our goal weights :P
purrrple - May 28, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
LOL very true Happyjaxx! Good luck with it :D
Happyjaxx - May 29, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
Alright so today was not a good day for me at all. There is no way that I am going to hit my 2000 calorie intake but here it is:
WW Mac-n-Cheese (200)
Tuna Pack (270)
Soft Pretzel (110)
Peanuts (275)
Coke (165)
Planned for later:
LC salisbury steak, carrots and potatoes (270)
Popcorn (100)
Total=1390 which is way too low
shygemini - May 30, 2007 12:57 AM (GMT)
That's ok jaxx...sometimes we really have no idea how many calories we are intaking until we consciously keep track, and that is the first step. There are also bound to be days we eat less then we "should" or more then we "should"...and this keeps our body confused which is a good thing :)
Happyjaxx - May 31, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
Did better today:
Strawberries, Pineapple and Kiwi (170)
Slim Fast (270)
Buffalo Chicken Salad (870)
WW Chicken and Veggie thing (176)
RF Cheez-it (130)
Coke (140)
Non-Alcoholic drink at the pool hall (195)
Total :1951
Better today although I don't like how many calories I'm getting from liquids, other than the Slim Fast drink which I grab for breakfast on the run.
Happyjaxx - June 1, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
May 31st - 1900
June 1st - NOT EVEN CLOSE!! I haven't had dinner yet but we were so busy at work that I only got to eat 1 meal
Calories so far 540 :( :(
Happyjaxx - June 3, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
Ok so I obviously SUCK at the counting calories thing and it needs to become my priority for the next few weeks. I was in th ehabbit of grabbing those WW meals and on some days I'd eat 4 and that was it, not realizing that I was only getting 1000 calories
So time to change things...tomorrow at work and maybe today if I get some time I'm gonna schedule my meals for the next week, go grocery shopping afterwork, and portion out things that need portioning lol.

I actually went to the gym yesterday and felt a bit better today. I took it easy on the mill and mainly walked and only ran when I felt like it.
Happyjaxx - September 20, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
I ended up going out to Red Lobster for dinner last night and to my suprise and delight, they post nutritional info at the table in those little drink/appetizer/dessert menus! Did pretty good yesterday...today though is a whole other story as I missed breakfast and have only had a large salad today

*edit* all right, so I didn't end up eating dinner. To be honest I wasn't hungry until around 10:30 and didn't want to eat that late. I still had a total of 1678 calories so it was a low day, but still in my range.

So I ended up getting called into work this morning at a different location. The coworkers wanted to go to Arby's, but typically at this location I would go to Zaxby's and get a salad. So, I went online to look at the nutritional information on their market fresh sandwiches. I could not believe what I saw. The sandwich that I would have chosen would have had 834 calories, 37 grams of fat and 2258 mg of sodium!!! I couldn't believe it. Here i thought i was being "healthy" by chosing a market fresh sandwich when all along I was consuming more calories and fat than if I had what everyone else typically eats lol. So I picked the Arby's melt with 303 cal and 12 g of fat and a medium fry 397/24 saved 100+ calories and some fat.

re the arby's sandwich, that is unbelievable! it just goes to show that just because something sounds healthy doesn' mean that it is!
i would have done the same thing as you and gone for the market fresh sandwich. I guess i'll have to make sure to check things in advance whenever possible. It makes me mad that places try to make something sound healthy when it isn't. I believe at Tim Hortons (not sure if you have that there) if you order a low fat blueberry muffin it actually is less healthy then the regular blueberry muffin, and a chocolate donut is better then both of them LOL
your food sounds really good today jaxx!
TeachX3 - October 10, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
Arby's is bad, yes... but Lions Choice is WAY worse!! OMGosh, one sandwich has enough sodium for a week! UGH :P
I agree with Shy, your food looks yummy and low in cals too!
Happyjaxx - October 12, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
Well I've been doing so well with counting calories and now I'm sick in bed with the flu  I wish I looked as good is this smilie here  but I'm afraid to admit that I am frightingly similar to a horror movie character at the moment. Oh well. I have some great friends that have been bringing me things and walking my dog for me today so I am feeling quite loved and special at the moment.
Calorie wise...who knows, as I have been consuming most of my calories today in the form of liquids. I have been good though and have been doing 1/2 juice 1/2 water, so it's not as bad as it could be.
1c. Strawberries
1/2 c. watermelon
pita chips
1 c. v8 light fruit
Wheat Crakers
Cheddar Cheese
Chicken Noodle Soup
I am just hoping that I feel better in the morning so that I can go to work.
