Title: Jaxx's Weekly Weigh-In

Happyjaxx - May 28, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
So i am planning on weighing in at the gym tomorrow morning and couldn't weight to start my thread

I am hoping that I will still be somewhere around the 205.4 mark but i am expecting to be a little higher than that as the previous weight was done at home, first thing in the morning and naked! Don't think the people at the gym want to see that

TeachX3 - May 29, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)

Looking forward to your results Happyjaxx!! WOOOT!!

Hehe...probably not! Especially if the scale at your gym is in the middle of the cardio area like mine is

I'm excited to see your weigh in tommorow!

Happyjaxx - May 29, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
So I overslept this morning  and I couldn't make it to the gym in enough time

I think I'm just gonna use the 205.4 and add 2 lbs for clothes and shoes, making my current weight 207.4 Does that sound about right?

I also need to hide my bathroom scale as it is very unreliable <_<

shygemini - May 29, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
Hm, why is your bathroom scale so unreliable?

When you do weigh yourself at the gym, maybe you can take your shoes off? We have to at mine. It might give a more accurate reading.

Although, To be honest i'm not even sure clothes and shoes add alot of weight, but you can add 2lbs if you want. I"ve tried weighing myself with and without shoes on and the weight is the same. One time i had a big bunch of keys in my pocket and figured there would be a big difference if i removed the keys...nope.

Happyjaxx - May 29, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
My bathroom scale is anywhere between 2-5 lbs less than the one at the gym on any given day. It's not a great one, but I guess if that's the one that i consistently weigh with then I could always just use it and start at the 205.4. Maybe that would be the easiest anyways considering I hate getting on the scale at the gym

Cherriterri - May 29, 2007 05:09 PM (GMT)
I try to always weigh myself with the same scale since scales can vary so much in their reading. I also weigh myself naked, that way there is no question as to how much my clothes weigh. :D

LimeCrush - May 30, 2007 08:35 PM (GMT)
your doing great! Just a few more weeks will see you in the 1's!!!!! Dance Party

Chiquita Kikita - June 2, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
Wow Jaxx! You're almost in the 1's!!!! That will definitely be a reason to celebrate! Dance Party I'm so excited for you!! I can't wait to be where ur at now again.......you must have worked so hard to get there - congrats!! I would also stick to the same scale as jumping on different ones can get you depressed  The clothes definitely make a difference on the scale too.... at least that's what I've found.......this is why I go without! haha too much information!!

sapphire - June 2, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
You're doing great, Jaxx! I've found that my scale gives me the same reading (in decimals) whether or not I'm dressed, unless if I'm wearing something heavy like jeans and a studded belt. I weigh myself first thing in the morning, as even having one glass of water beforehand will change the reading on the scale.

Happyjaxx - June 6, 2007 03:20 PM (GMT)

flowerfluffgirl - June 8, 2007 12:47 PM (GMT)
Fantastic weight loss!!!

My scales are pretty sensitive. If I am in my grundies or grundies and a t shirt, it's about the same. If I am wearing trakkies and a hoodie on the other hand, it does actually add up to 2lbs. Sneakers and baggy shorts add just under a lb. At night I'm usually 2-4lbs heavier. I try to weigh with similar clothing at the same time every week.

Happyjaxx - June 13, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
No weigh-in this week as I have lost my scale in the move :(

Then again...maybe it was just wishful thinking

If I don't find it this weekend, I'll just buy a new one as I hated the old one anyway.

TeachX3 - June 13, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)

eh, go buy the new one BEFORE you look for the old one!

Enjoy (as much as possible) unpacking and getting settled in. (I hate moving!)

shygemini - June 13, 2007 04:21 PM (GMT)
oooo buy a new scale! it makes weighing in alot more fun :danceparty:

LimeCrush - June 15, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
I vote for a new one too!

Enjoy your new home.

sarahinparis - June 18, 2007 11:05 AM (GMT)
I agree that a new scale is a lot more fun. My sister just brought me a new scale last week from the US (I still think in pounds, not kilos, and so scales in kilos drive be bananas!)

This scale does everything, but luckily it does just the weight without the full programming (or else it would still be in the box!)

stormgirl - June 19, 2007 07:52 AM (GMT)
I hope the move went as smoothly as possible...moving is sooo stressful. It seems that no matter how easy and flowing you try and make it, moving always ends up giving you a headache.
Enjoy your new home and look forward to seeing more updates! :)

triscuitwafer - June 20, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
your doing so well! keep it up! :huggs:

NicC - June 20, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)

shygemini - October 18, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
:huggs: we will get on track this week jaxx! plus you have been sick and that always does strange things to our weight.

Happyjaxx - October 18, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)

Righ - October 19, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)

sapphire - October 21, 2007 09:31 AM (GMT)
Best of luck Jaxx! :cheer:

Happyjaxx - October 25, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
I am so frustrated I just want to scream. I weighed myself first thing this morning on a doctors like scale at the gym here at my complex and it showed 218.5! Then I go right back to my house and hop on the scale in my bathroom and it says 211. I am just so frustrated with all of this that I don't want to deal with it any more. I need to find the best place AND time to weigh, and do that every week, as i seem to be just driving myself crazy.

shygemini - October 25, 2007 07:38 PM (GMT)
Wow i don't blame you for being frustrated jaxx...that is a huge difference, :(

I am not sure which one to believe..is your gym at the complex well maintained? In that case i'd have to say i would trust that weight more (sorry).

I've tested my own scale a few times by weighing myself at the gym after a workout and then as soon as i get home, and its always been the same so i am fairly confident mine is accurate. Other then perhaps getting a new scale, or weighing yourself on the other one, i'm not sure what to suggest. :(((( :huggs:

Happyjaxx - October 25, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
I'm just gonna keep chugging along and try the scale at the gym where I do my classes on monday morning and see what it says.

I didn't think about it at the time, but I coulod have easily grabbed a weight and "tested" the one at the gym. Maybe I will later on tonight just to see. I have checked the one here and it is reading my dumbells correctly
