I thought this thread might be a good idea...i think it will help me alot and hopefully others as well...

My idea is that when we are craving something we post it here instead of giving into the craving. This is for times when we know we don't need anything else to eat, or we are not really hungry just bored etc...

I will start.

It is 12:30am here. I am really craving something to eat. I had a decent supper at 6pm, then i went out and weeded for 2 hours. I wasn't hungry after that and actually refused a dessert offering. But now i really want something! I am determined to resist this craving. :canofworms:

I can't even think of anything i want to eat. I just want to eat.

thanks prin!

i did ok, i didn't eat anything. I made myself a glass of sweetened ice tea (from powder mix)- it is about 30 calories or so. And i wake up this morning more than a pound heavier...but i'd like to think that isn't reflecting my choices yesterday.

good idea for a topic, shy, I'll try to remember it's here -- sometimes just acknowledging a craving is enough for it to pass...

thanks sarah!

tommorow at lunch will be difficult for me. We are having a potluck (which is why i was cooking- see my food diary thread) and it is so easy to overeat at those things, not to mention eating lots of unhealthy stuff. I will try my best!

You can do it Shy!!!! Great idea for a topic thread - I must remember to USE IT lol. I was not doing well resisting yesterday (eating out of fatigue/boredom/habit/dh away etc), HOWEVER I had a revelation at about 9 pm - as I dipped my teaspoon in the PB jar for the third time - I started thinking this HAS to stop this is a DISEASE/SERIOUS addiction - I did not eat anything else after that spoonful of PB AND later I went to bed early (10:45 is early for me - I worked until 1:45 am the night before). Fatigue will push me over the edge everytime...
1.5 lbs a week will get me to my goal weight by Jan 1 next year!!!

nic you did so well to stop and realize what you were doing! i think sometimes eating is so automatic...which is why i guess they always recommend measuring things out for dieting as then you aren't eating right from the container.

teach- thank you!

well, i didn't do terrible at the potluck, but not great either. I had only one plate of food, and i took alot of salads...little bits of each one. I then took some very small pieces of cake, and didn't eat all of theh cake....so i think i did ok :)

Shy, I think that you did very well. Pot lucks are really hard, theres so much food, and its really easy to get to talking and eating and before you know it you have eaten a billion calories, but you did really good. :bouncy:
