Boy, I am really struggling. It is like I am two separate people. Half of me wants to 'live and let live' enjoy foods and drink, be content and embrace my curves. Almost to the point of 'wanting' to be a large person! The other half of me wants a sexy, hard and slim body. I want to look 'hot' and feel beautiful. I guess I 'want my cake and eat it too' so to say. What is wrong with me?? Is this normal?? Does anyone else struggle with this or am I the only person who has two people fighting a war within???

yes i totally understand. When i was larger (yes, i am still large) i would always think to myself and say to others that we should be accepting of others no matter what, that we should be proud of our size. I kind of liked being big, in a sense. But i also hated it, and that is what drove me to start being a healthier person.

I think it is easier to be big, you can eat whatever you want, lay on the cough and eat candy/chps all day, and that is allowed because that is your agenda. Whereas being slim takes alot more work, but we know that is how we would like to be.

So yes, it is a constant battle within yourself. I think this is why sometimes we have times where we gain alot of weight back. You get that urge to give up and give in, until you realize it is time to get back on track.

I definitely have that same internal struggle - not a good eating day today for example. Grr. The battle goes on.

I feel the same way totally! It's like if it didn't play a role in me being healthy and everyone was excepting of the "pleasantly plump", I would be mowing down some wings, onion rings and a root beer float.

But then, I go clothes shopping and find myself almost in tears at the thought of some of the clothes that the stores offer for my size. I see looks I get. I can't make it up a few flights of stairs without worrying about a coronary?!? I worry about what my daughters friends will think as they get closer to the teen years and often worry if I will be here to even see those years....and that is what keeps getting my keester off of the couch and moving onto the treadmill. I think all of us here are going to have those days when we know it would be easier just to give in...I know I do. But that's why we are here. You can do this -Teach...I know you can...because I can@! And if I can...well, we all can!?!

Hang in there, girl!! :cheer: :huggs: :huggs: :huggs: :cheer:

I get sad that the avatars on yahoo don't have nearly the same selection of clothes for the "plus size" option as they do for the normal size. Really, is it that hard to just have the same virtual outfits? That is just insulting.
