Last night I was able to take some savings we had and take my daughter to the Jonas Brothers (with Demi Lovato & Avril Lavigne) concert. It was a gigantic blessing for her and I am extremely thankful to have been able to do it. It was fantastic.

However, my husband has had his hours cut at work and we will be short in the weekly income, so I am going out tomorrow to look for a part time job to help make ends meet. I have not been in the workforce much in my life due to the disability of MS and being a Wife/Mom, so I am looking into a gas station attendant or a hotel reservation clerk. Please wish me luck in finding something!

The economy is so bad here in the USA... it is killing us. We have gotten behind on a few bills, had to shut off our satellite tv, heck we have not filled our gas tank in many months, we just get a small amount every few days. Food is more expensive and our cupboards show that as well. Things could be way, way worse I know that and there are so many who are far worse than us, so I am still counting my blessings!!

But I wanted everyone to kinda get an idea of what's going on with me. Having a job outside the home means I wont have time to check in here as often.

Good news... I have purchased the Ticker script! But in reading the installation instructions, I have learned that I must have web hosting to install it on, which costs money on a weekly/yearly basis, so I'm not able to do that yet. But we do own the Ticker and I will try to get it installed for us as soon as I can.

My hubby and I cannot go to the Boston/Styx concert this Friday... I am sad about that, because I was really looking forward to it. But we need the money that I will make by selling the tickets, so I'll do that tonight on eBay. I hope I make some good money!

Well I guess that's about it with me lately... LOL!

Teach, I know what you are going through. Everything is tight for us too right now. Good Luck with finding a job. I don't know if you thought about it, but my sister works at an assisted living facility and loves it, and you don't need experiance. Well good luck. :D

Best of luck dannielle! :)

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's hours being cut at work.

I can think of some good jobs you could get...cleaning houses, working as a cashier, working in retail, that should be pretty easy to get (at least here) and don't need experience.

Do you have a garden? I know it is a bit late in the year to start now but that really helps us and then we have veggies for quite a bit into the fall and winter months

i'm sorry you won't be able to go to your concert :( but sometimes we have to make tough decisions.

Hi Teach - sorry to hear about the cut in hours. I think you have so many talents - you could probably (at least in the long term) do work from the computer at home - that's where I disappeared to yesterday, lol. I'm happy your daughter finally got to see her Jonas brothers!

Thanks everyone so much! Yeah, it's all no big deal really... things could always be worse in life, so I am not too down about it all. Me getting a part time job will help fill in the gap where hubbies cut in hours will leave us short. Things will get better in time, I have faith in that! Nic, you just cannot imagine the sheer joy my daughter experienced watching that concert, LOL, it was SO WORTH the money spent and me having to sell my concert tickets!!! I would not change that decision for the world! Going out either today or tomorrow to look for that job... Here is the auction I have running for the tickets: BOSTON / STYX 3rd ROW TICKETS they are already selling!! WOOOHOOO! There are lots of *watchers* on it too... so I hope it goes crazy up in price! LOL :D

EDIT: OMGosh! They just keep going up! WOOOT! I am so thankful for this!!

Well, the tickets sold... not for their worth, but oh well. The face value on them was 160 and they sold for 125, but I am still thankful. I went out job searching Friday... I think one is looking pretty good!! It is like my *dream job* LOL, I would be a Front Desk representative for Holiday Inn at Six Flags. It is a beautiful (and clean LOL!) hotel. I sure hope to hear from them Monday. Well, things may be a bit tight for us, but I guess we are not too bad, because we are ordering pizza tonight! LOL

Hey Teach - I wonder if the Holiday Inn lets the employees use the gym/pool?
