Some snack ideas for healthy snacking (make sure to observe serving sizes)

With the changes at my house here are some things we've been snacking on:

Wasabi Peas
Pistachios
Fruit-to-go (fruit leather)
soy nuts (ok not opened yet but bought today)
FRUIT
Veggies
Craisins (100 cal paks)
Other serving size limited snack packs (limit to 1 or 2 per day)
cheesestrings
yoghurt
ww fig newtons (PC variety)
frozen fruit

1.5 lbs a week will get me to my goal weight by Jan 1 next year!!!

Good ideas Nic! :bouncy:

Shy, it's not that fun, well a little when your first married, :D but it does make it easier to be healthy, just skip the cookie isle. If I walk down the cookie isle, I HAVE to buy Oreo's. :D

I don't know princess I really like grocery shopping even after 15 yrs of marriage. Skipping the cookie aisle is definitely a good idea - for me it's the soda pop aisle once there the aspartame bubbly drink cravings kick in...

I don't like to grocery shop either... I just want the food that I want, in my house, at all times, so that I can have it when I want it  can we say "somebody needs to be rich and have a maid"? Or is it... "somebody is lazy"!

:thanx: NicC for the snack ideas. Always nice to try something differant or new. I went grocery shopping today & included the Craisins today. I actually love grocery shopping as long as I am doing it alone. I like to take the time to read labels, comparison shop, look for new products, & some and chat with friends. Sometimes it is the only place I see my neighbors. Sometimes I do all my dry product shopping, stop by the in store Subway, have lunch, & then continue on to finish up shopping for the perishables. At least, I am not so tempted by foods I know I should avoid since I have just satisified my hunger. :)

By the way,
What are Wasabi Peas? (I feel like such a dork asking  )

They are dry roasted peas with wasabi (japanese horseradish mustard kind of thing that people eat with sushi). And don't feely silly for asking - I've asked Teach about stuff before...Apparantly you can dry roast chick peas at home too (some sort of Weight Watchers recipe suggestion) but I haven't tried that...

I *LOVE* wasabi!! I eat it in my rice with soy sauce YUM YUM and the hotter the better, my nose always starts running!

I have had to ask about many food items too Joyful, that is the wonderful thing about our diverse group here... so many of us eat something that others have not heard of or tried!

Dry roasted Chick Peas are awesome. I fact i will go post the recipe right now.

I am looking forward to buying my own food so i don't have to feel guilty about buying things that might be seen as expensive...but all food is expensive these days anyway.
