A advertisement for "SlimCal" (TM) addressed right to me, how sweet!

If you want to see the excitement for yourself check out: http://www.rightchoiceslab.com/

Actually i often get weight loss advertisements addressed to me. Somehow (and i have no idea how because i'm careful about giving out personal info) my name got on those mailing lists.

Anyway i had a good laugh at this pamphlet today. I am considering starting to collect them.

It says inside

RESULTS OF CLINICAL TRIALS
Originally developed in Europe, scientists working at the Excel Lab conducted a lengthy double-blind study on thousands of overweight individuals. Here are the results:

-The measured effectiveness was 100%. Absolutely all participants lost weight.

Lets just stop right there (no need to give the other "results".

A double blind study means that both the participant (in this case, overweight individual) and the scientist do not know whether the participant is receiving a placebo or the medicine/pill. It is done to prevent biased results on either end.

However, they say that ALL participants lost weight. That says to me that even the placebo people lost weight ;)

Another fantastic statement in this mail out:

"NOt only does Slim Cal stop all the food you eat from turning into fat, but it causes built up fatty deposits AND CELLULITE to be automatically converted into energy". (my emphasis)

Cellulite is actually a term coined originally by a fashion magaizine, not by medical professionals. And, whether you have it or not is determiend by genetics (of course if you are more overweight, it may be more prevalent if you are predisposed to it). Also as you get older, your skin naturally thins out, so that cellulite may become more obvious. Cellulite is located directly under you skin within fibrous tissues, and it is unlikely that it will disappear even with a healthy diet and exercise.

There are more things i could discuss from the pamphlet but those were the worst statements!!

I just love how the skin tightened in the after pictures - apparently it's a muscle toner AND skin tuck device too. Like someone could lose 70 pounds in 7 weeks and not have loose skin...
1.5 lbs a week will get me to my goal weight by Jan 1 next year!!!

Yeah, they will give you your money back... just fill out this STACK of forms, mail them to your cousin who in turn must send them on to the President, who then must affix his Presidential seal and then send them on to the company, who will try to get around to viewing them within 6 months and then they will mail out your refund via the slowest form of mail possible.

and yes nic...so silly about the skin tightening... i also laughed at the before/after pics...it is just for example a pic of someone wearing blue underwear..and all you can see if their butt and bit of back and legs LOL...oh...i'm convinced!

Isn't the point of buying a product to use it. What kind of money back guarantee is that? Makes me want to send them my money today. LOL :D

HeHe, too funny. That stuff baffles me but the must make tons of money from it.

And for us Canadians, we would get the money back in Canadian Tire dollars :)

they must, because it was a 6 sided (or 8 sided?) print out, mailed out to thousands (i would assume if not more) people.

I really wonder where these people got my name from.
