Hi all,I just wanted to address the topic of emotional eating. I have been reading a lot of the threads & this seems to be a common situation for us all. I eat a very healthy diet & am very consious of my portions, but the emotional eating times are when I am making the bad choices. This is the main thing that keeps me from losing the weight once & for all. Lately I have been trying to say "stop" what are you thinking? On a scale of 1 to 10...how hungry are you? If not really hungry will the eating address or change your emotions or solve the issue? What has been your experience & how do you combat emotional eating?

Here are my results to the test: Your score = 8 What does your score mean? Your attitudes surrounding body image and food are healthy (in psychological terms, not necessarily nutritional). This is no small feat in today's society. Congrats! Don't let other's ideas about beauty get in the way of your own. Eat well, exercise, and stay healthy! |

As for the emotional eating - I still find it hard to control sometimes. My biggest triggers: frustration & anger |

My score was a 41. My biggest trigger of emotional eating is mt body. I want to be thin, I see that not happening and I eat. It's a sad circle. |

My score was 22 & I got the same results as Teachx3..still I think I am an emotional eater & my triggers are anxiety, sadness, stress, used to be boredom, (but that is no longer true since I retired) getting emotinally upset etc. I know God gave me this body to care for responsibly & not to abuse with this kind of behavior. So I am going to do an exercise listing all the situations I feel that I eat for emotional reasons instead of real hunger & then look for verses in the Bible to counteract.
