I know South Beach Living Foods have this new bars that's just too good to be true lol so I want to share it..![]() I think this is the real snack!.. Mocha and S'mores fiber fit bars from South Beach Living Foods. I know they have more fiber that most fiber bars out there and it's real chocolate coating. Oh, don't worry about the sugar, they have no high fructose corn syrup.. Has anyone tried this? |

Here is the nutritional info.....they aren't the worst thing you could eat but they have very little nutritional value for the calories...so i think i'd give them a miss myself..especially as they were made ( i presume) to fit the "South Beach Diet"....which is a diet we should all give a miss. Nutrition Facts South Beach Living - Fiber Fit Granola Bar, Mocha Servings: 1 bar Calories 120 Sodium 125 mg Total Fat 4 g Saturated 3 g Monounsaturated 1 g Polyunsaturated 0 g Trans 0 g Potassium 95 mg Total Carbs 25 g Dietary Fiber 9 g Sugars 7 g Protein 2 g Cholesterol 0 mg Vitamin A 0 % Calcium 0 % Vitamin C 0 % Iron 0 % *Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. Your daily values may be higher or lower depending on your calorie needs. |

I sort of agree with both of you. I think they do have really good fiber content so if that's what's missing in your diet - it's better than cookies or a chocolate bar (provided the bars taste as good as they look - the fiber bar (Jamieson) I tried a couple of weeks ago looked good but tasted really disgusting). These ones definitely look yummy and it's good that they use real chocolate for the coating. However like Shy said for overall nutrition they are lacking and it's also kind of high in saturated fats (so I wouldn't eat like 10 to replace a day's worth of calories). By the way this could be a great thread to start so we can discuss the best options for bars - maybe we can find some that are overall nutritious and tasty... Edited by NicC, Jan 20 2009, 07:47 AM.

... and I agree with all three of you If eaten for the sole purpose of extra fiber in the diet, they are not too bad cal wise imo and they would feel like a treat to me. However, I think there are better ways to get in fiber. Also I just say no to the full blown sbdiet as well as any other scheme to get ones money and hopes. ![]() |
