2010 here comes Nic - Excercise Journal

I'm ready to get back to exercising. I have bought new exercise shoes, signed up for aerobics classes and bought a set of 5 pound hand weights. NO more excuses. Come the new year if I think it's too cold I will do a DVD or use the treadmill otherwise it's off to aerobics class... Goal exercise 3-5 times per week IN ADDITION to the dog walks.

Reward: for every week I accomplish this goal between Jan 1 and the end of the aerobics session (April 30) I will set aside $10 for a new bicycle... so the more I work out the nicer my new bike will be (sadly dh was unable to fix my old one so I have been without my bike all Fall)...

Low Impact Aerobics 60 min
Walking about 25-30 min (I was faced with an Amazing Race detour: Deep Snow or Long Walk and for the most part chose long walk). Poor dog hasn't had a walk yet though ...


Tomorrow is the Strength and Tone Class ...

And guess what: So far I've found at least 3 people I know going to the class... :D

Best part is I'm not "counting" on them they just happened to be there :danceparty: because I've found "going" with other people to exercise gave me excuses if they didn't go - this way it's just a nice bonus...

50 min strength and tone (instructor was late)
30 min walking (path still not plowed)

Tomorrow will likely be a dog walk day (poor pup is feeling neglected, plus the morning class is Step which I'm terrible at plus potential knee and ankle issues that could recur). Thursday is 75 min Interval class...

Interval class 75 min (includes about 15 min of stretching/relaxation Awesome!!!)
walking 20 min

PS I "freed" the treadmill and it is now ready for those days where it's too cold to walk over to the gym and weekends...

Low and core 60 min
Walk 10 min (got a ride back today).

The teacher today was unfocussed and so was I. The core component was good though (right arm sore from yesterday so I couldn't hold one on the side planks because it started cramping). Oh well... (next week it's supposed to be taught by an acquaintance/friend of mine from Parent Council) should be interesting (she's also a High School Gym teacher)...

Note: I am glad I did not purposely sign up "with" friends this time but rather found them there because yesterday only one acquaintance showed up but since I am going on "my own" having friends there like today is a bonus NOT an excuse ...

Low and core 60 min (OMG my friend from parent council was so funny but she made us work HARD - I was sweating like crazy plus lots of squats, my upper back muscles are the good kind of sore from yesterday too...)

I think the instructors conspired to kill us this week after yesterdays 50 min cardio today was the strength and tone (60 min) and by the end I could barely bring the weights back to the storage room...

dog walk (with 2 big dogs since we are dog-sitting) 25 min

woke up with a mild migraine today (very light sensitive) so I was glad today was a "no gym" day.
