New Year's meltdown...

Just need to have my little meltdown before heading off to hang out with all the super skinny people (the size I will never be because I just do not have that body type). Can't find my dress pants (have been looking for them since we got home from visiting my parents) so now I'm stuck wearing a stupid skirt because my other pants are either too grubby, falling apart or too tight. Everyone at the party is naturally very skinny so none of them will get it AT ALL (my friend who's hosting forgets to eat when she's stressed - totally opposite reaction). Of course by the time I get there I need to be super-cheery friendly Nic again so whatever... I just want to curl up into a tiny (ok big fat) ball and cry... The worst of it is I swore I'd never be in this position again...

Once again one of my kids gives me a reality check. My 16 year old said:
"But mom your friend did not invite you because of what you look like ... "

sigh can't argue with that "motherly" advice now can I... still feeling a little sad inside though... :)

I just want to give your kid a big ol' hug and an even bigger one to you my friend... I hear the pain in your post and I am so sorry you are having these feelings... but like your very wise child said, people love you for you (even though I know that does not remove the pain of being unhappy with the outer shell) HUGE HUGS to you Nic!!! NOW, go to that party, put on that happy face, and before you know it, with the love from family and friends, that happy face will turn into the real thing!! :D

:newyear:

My Goal... NO to TOXINS: chemicals, artificial colors & flavors, preservatives, additives, man made (lab created) 'foods', GMO's, pesticides, added hormones, antibiotics, etc... and YES to ORGANIC: whole, fresh & pure natural living!

I totally understand how you are feeling :( I am feeling this way all the time right now. In fact feeling this way is even making me want to not go on a basically free tropical vacation in a couple months.

I know it is hard buying bigger clothes especially when we have lost before and been much smaller, but i definitely think it is worth buying a couple items, just so you can at least feel good in a few things you are wearing, especially on occasions like this one.

Thanks Shy - somehow I knew you would understand. Thankfully my pants were found (in dh's closet) - now I have to take my healthy eating and exercise seriously because I have a drawer full of pants that "almost" fit...
Shy please don't turn down the vacation - maybe just use it as motivation to get in the exercise - a couple of months can accomplish quite a bit of toning. :goodidea:
