hehe thanks!

today we went to the gym again :D

30 minutes walking around the track. I did one lap speed walking and got my heart rate up to 150 doing that. I didn't feel as tired at the start as i did yesterday, but i still did get tired towards the end.

I know i have the time to exercise It is about setting priorities. It took 1 hour total from the time we left the house, to get to the gym, change, exercise, and get back home. That is not bad.

We also bought a one month membership at the gym! I have a free membership via school as well, but i think my plan will be to go there to classes if i can and if not i like going to this other gym to walk around the track.

i had this conversation with my husband tonight...why does it cost so much to get a gym membership? it was over $100 for both of us for one month membership! Ridiculous. The government should be subsidizing the costs so it isn't so expensive to get fit. Yes...i know that one doesn't need a gym to get fit, but for myself and many others i believe it is the preferred method...or at least it is nice to have that option.

I second what Teach said -- good job getting back on track!

And getting to the point where eating at home is working well is great! Soon you'll pick more meals at home vs out and when you start to push the balance towards healthy eating *most* of the time you'll be back in the groove!
PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION.

Duh - I was actually wanting to hit the "like" button regarding going to the gym, apparently I'm spending too much time on FB.

hi all-

just an update as to how i am doing. i think i am doing great with eating. we have been having cut up fresh veggies as snacks and this is working well...because one can eat alot and it is fine to do so! we have been having salads every day with supper and this is also a good change. we also have made a commitment to not buy desserts in the evening (we were getting these way too often before). so very good i think!

i am still however struggling with getting to the gym. i just find it so discouraging, and hard to get past that. i am getting out of breath these days for the slightest reason, and i know the solution is to start seriously exercising agian, but it is just so hard to make those changes. it amazes me, but i see a huge difference between my current weight (276) and 10 lbs lighter. this weight just doesn't sit well with me. i need to get rid of it and fast.

but i have to look at the positive points....having my eating under control is a huge issue and not one to be upset about. i think i might just have to bite the bullet and jump right into an exercise class, as scary as that can be. maybe a muscle sculpt class would be a good place to start.

Thank you both :) This year is going by so fast! I feel like i'll be out in the workforce in no time (even though it is still awhile away lol).

Well I have one big thing to celebrate this week...i did not have any desserts! I did have coffees after supper, but never any cookies/cakes/pies/ice creams. I am happy about that. I do still tend to buy muffins in the morning which i would like to stop (since that is not good-bought muffins are bound to be high calorie etc) but on the bright side that IS at the start of the day so more likely to be burned off. I think rather than trying to change that right away i am going to try to incorporate exercise into my routine.

But i am still having a horrid time getting motivated to go to the gym :( I was going to go last night, but when the time came it was late, i was tired, and i ended up just going to bed. I went to bed at 9pm last time....super early!!!! I think my body was trying to tell me something though so i listened for a change.

Well I think sleep is just as important but do try to go to the gym - you know you'll love it once you finished your workout!

Is it not possible to do morning workouts due to your schedule Shy?

Morning workouts would be possible but...i just hate the morning lol! I have enough trouble getting up and getting to school on time. It might be something i look at again in the future (i used to do spin class 3x a week from 6:30-7:30am..eep!).

Normally the evening is a much better time for me, i think i was just super exhausted from not getting enough sleep for a long while.

TOday i went to the gym! I just did my walking around the track but i was happy. I was thinking that to ease back into things it would be good to try to do sculpting classes as well as my walks 3x a week, and perhaps just walks the other days. I'm not going to stress about it but i think that would be a good general plan.

Weigh in day tommorow!

Thanks for the support ladies :)

Last week - 276.4

This week - 275.2

lost 1.2 lbs

my scale was frustrating me. i weighed myself 4 times in a row and got the same number. then i weighed myself again 1/2 hour later (i hadn't eaten anything yet) and got a different number. i decided to go with the number i received initially.
