Hi everyone. I hope it is ok for me to jump in here. Looks like a great community you have going. I am looking for some friends and hope I can return the favour to all of you.

Last Monday I descided that I was going to make a distance goal for my walking from now until Labour Day. Through a series of calculations, lol - don't want to bore you all, I descided to shoot for 360 km in the next 4 months(18 weeks). I am off to a pretty good start and will be going out to walk very soon after posting this.

Keep up the good work everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all. :D

Thanks

Well this past Sunday was the end of my first week since starting this challenge. I have a goal to do at least 20km a week and last week I did 21.17km!!! Hurray. Week One was a success.

Week Two:
Monday - 3.54km
Tuesday - none
Wednesday - 3.82 km

Total so far - 7.36 km
Week goal - 20 km
Challenge goal - 360 km

It has finally stopped snowing/raining today so I might get outside to walk after all.

Hi, as you can see from my ticker I am still walking. Have met my weekly goal each of the last 4 weeks and doing good this week.

Shy, I don't use a pedometer, I tried them once but didn't really work for me. But my husband uses one. I just use the site, RUNNINGMAP.COM to figure out the length of my walks. It is a really neat site. When you go there just type in your town, or even your address. If you walk trails alot you might have to chose the map setting called 'hybrid' as it will show all the houses, trails, buildings etc. I find that setting much easier to use.

Will try to get back here more consistently.

that is a cool site! :D i am going to use it for when i go on walks. :)

apparently it is 0.87 kilometers from my front door at home to my front door at work LOL...so i walk about 1.6 km a day just back and forth, i didn't think it was that long!

Thank you Princess, Teach and Nic. I walk outside all the time. I would love to have a treadmill or elliptic but to get a good one is not in the books, probably ever, lol. I have used them when I used to go to the gym though.

Well I failed to meet my 20k goal last week, was 4 k short. I partly blame all the rain, lol, but know that part of it was just me too. So I am adding the missing 4 k from last week to this week to see if I can make it up.

Today did 5.28km in 51 minutes.
