I did find something good at the market the other day. Dried Apricots: They are yummy. 6 has 110 calories, 0 fat, and 3 grams of fiber. |

Hi prin: I moved your topic into the snacks section
Something i've been having recently is to cut up a banana into small pieces and sprinkle a tbsp of coconut on it and a tbsp of almonds. It is pretty satisfying and dessert like without being terribly unhealthy (170 cal or so). Another thing i enjoy is cutting up an apple and dipping it into 1tbsp of peanut butter (about 160 cal). Cottage cheese with 1/2 cup fruit added is a very filling healthy snack...i used to mix cottage cheese and blueberries all the time as suggested by MagicRe. If you are looking for something that takes longer to eat, i buy the smartpop popcorn from orville reddenbacher...it is i believe 120 cal/half bag...i just sprinkle on some hot paprika and it is quite tasty. I'm thinking i might start air popping my own popcorn (or popping kernels in a brown bag in the microwave) as that will avoid the additives in the store bought stuff. |
