My motto for the New Year is: No Excuses!!! :resolution:
And I already can think of many excuses that can hold me back. The main one at this moment is this cold that I have still not kicked. But I'm determinded to fight it through.
I got pics from New Years Eve and it seems the 20lbs. I gained earlier this year went strait to my face. :( I also found pics from last May and I looked much better then, than I do now. So for 2008 I plan on ending the year better than I started it.
For the fisrt part of this year I will be working on losing weight that I ALREADY LOST LAST YEAR. :grrrrrr: But instead of crying over spilled milk (so to say) I'm making a plan (that I stick to hopefully  ) and really shoot to see a lasting change this year. :jumping: This is really important to me as I let my weight affect many parts of my life. My husband is great and it doesn't even bother him, but I let it bother me. Just getting dress in the morning can put me in a bad mood all today. So because of my attitude I think everyone will be happier after this change. :happydance:

WOW I did not get very far with the NO EXCUSES for 2008.

Hi everyone. It has been a while since I have been around I have a break from school so I will be on here more for now.

Exercise this week: Walked 5 miles since last weekend. (9 days) I have been walking every other day. I am really proud of myself because I usally think that it is not exercise if I do not workout for an hour. So I am trying to take it slow, but I also do not want to make excuses why I am not exercising, because knowing myself it is easier to sit in front of my PC than exercise.

I think that I am finally ready to do this. The reason: Chest Pains all last week. And it hit me that I was only really wanting to lose weight for "looks" (being a size 8 before I may never get away from this) and with all the weight I gained I do not think that I will look the same as I once did. So I wanted to lose weight but thought that I would never be happy with the "After" person that I would look like. Now I want to do it for my health. The chest pains really scared me. Being over weight is so bad for your heart. :(

I hate to say "I'm back" as I have failed so many times but I'm back. :D

Thanks for all the support!!! :cheer:

welcome back princess!

it is fantastic that your husband is so supportive and loves you regardless of your size! :D

i understand your concerns about not being happy with the after person. For me it is like i'll turn into a person i don't even recognize as i've never been thin...whereas in reality i'm the same person, i'll just be a healthier version! So i definately think you are taking the right approach by focusing on health rather than looks. I believe they say that even if you lose 10% of your current body weight, your health improves dramatically.

great job with the walking! :) i need to get back into that myself as its finally nice out :spring:

YOUR BACK is a fabulous thing!! It is hard to pick ourselves back up and start again, especially when we have done it time, after time, after time... I know first hand how hard it is. But the fact that you are taking that step is a successful start!! Congrats on the walking girl!! The chest pains would of scared me too... I pray there is nothing serious there. We are still here for you P2O (I sure love your username!) and hope the VERY BEST for you as you strive to get healthier!! Slow but steady girl... you can do it!!

HI P2O - I hope your school went well. I'm very proud of you for getting in the exercise. It does not have to be an hour at all. Actually for me one of the best ways to get it in is splitting it up over the day (for example 25 min pilates DVD, later take my bicycle to get my kids from school etc). And things like cleaning the yard and gardening count too!!!

Thanks girls! :D

I went for a 30 mintue walk today. Ouch. I reinjured my neck (an old injury from a car accident) about 2 weeks ago and it has been painfull every since. By the end of my walk I was almost crying and my neck and shoulders were on fire. So it looks like I will be taking some more time off. :( I am so ready to exercise, but I will use this time to focus on eating healthy and hopefully have so good habits by the time my neck heals. ;)

oh no! i'm sorry to hear that you are in pain. :(

if you are feeling up to it you might be able to do some lower body exercises that will not put strain on your neck...but it might just be best to wait until you are healed up. :)

Thanks Shy and Nic!

I tried to walk again today and could only make it half way around the block. :( I guess this is really going to take some time to heal.

20 min Dog Walking- My husband has been training our puppy and now he will walk on his leash. :bouncy:
My neck was feeling better today and so I went for a walk. I only did 20 min as sometimes I have a shooting pain afterwards and did not want to over do my neck, as right now my daily activites (Cooking, cleaning, chasing 2 toddlers) puts enough strain on it, but it has now been 2 hours since my walk and NO sign of pain! :happydance:

My goal is to walk 3 times a week! One down and two to go...
