I agree Shy, HUGELY difficult! As a matter of fact, if one likes fast food and it is sitting right in front of them, I think it would be almost UNhuman to resist it... if they did resist, it would be SUPERHUMAN! and I gotta say... I like fast food and I am *not* superhuman!! So, I would of eaten it as well...Did that make sense?

Last night 12:30am, husband comes home form work with Steak-N-Shake. My 4 year old son is still awake and before I know it I'm watching Tom and Jerry and downing fast food.
I had half a chicken melt with fries. I really should have listen to my body yesterday because after eating 2169 calories I was still really hungry and was still hungry when hubby came home and I just couldn't (or wouldn't) resist the fast food, and happen without me thinking about it but maybe if I let myself have a small snack sooner I could have avoided this but I did not want to consume anymore calories and look what happened.
May 17th: Breakfast- 5 mini peanut butter cookies-70 calories small homemade blueberry muffin-120 calories 2 chocochip cookies-120 calories Lunch-Salad (Lettuce, tomato, green pepper) w/1 tbls Dressing-100 calories (3 cups of lettuce, 1 tlbs green pepper) 1 orange-86 calories Dinner- 2 little (3oz)Beef Ribs, grilled Zucchini and Red Pepper, 1 cup Watermelon-500 calories 3 small peanut clusters-210 cherry limeade-146 calories Total: 1352 calories-not counting Steak-N-Shake, My calories are low for today but I wasn't to hungry today, maybe because of my late night snack. |

Sunday May 18th: Breakfast: Skipped, I was running late to meet my mom. She did stop by McDonald's but I didn't get anything, looking back I should have got an orange juice or something. Lunch: I didn't eat anything until 1:30PM. 1 slice Papa John's Pizza-310 2 Cheese Sticks-370 Coke Cola-97 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies-120 Dinner- Hungarian Chicken and Sour Cream Cucumbers-400 Strawberry Shortcake-250 Total:1547 Not to bad, I didn't get enough veggies in. But all day yesterday I was thinking this is a cheat day and planned on get an Applebee's Sampler Platter in the evening, which has like a million calories and at the last mintue I decided against it and sort of changed the day around. I am looking forward to a good week.

i agree with your assesment about your day
something else i do for a banana treat: cut it up into a bowl, and add a couple tsp of shredded coconut. if you like coconut (i love it) this is quite a nice treat, and low on calories. I also love to cut up bananas or strawberries (or other berries) into a bowl and just add a bit of milk...something i grew up with as a kid for a dessert...you can add a l ittle sugar to if you want |

May 22nd: Breakfast-Cereal and Milk-280 Calories Lunch: Chicken and Rice w/Homemade Mushroom Gravy, Peas w/Mushrooms, 20oz. Green Tea w/Honey-531 Calories Snack: 3 Fiber Cookies-270 Calories-I have an excuse for downing so much chocolate today and Yesterday, TOM came today, I'm just not sure it is a good excuse. Dinner: 3 cup Salad w/Cucucmber, Tomato, Onion, Cheese, Almonds-273 Calories Snack: Whole Wheat English Muffin w/Peanut Butter- 310 Calories Total: 1664 calories I am proud of myself for drinking my green tea w/honey instead of just drinking hubby's tea. I made my tea last night before so I would have it for today. I brewed 2 tea bags in 20oz. of water (I like my tea light) and add 1 tablespoon of honey, then poured it into a glass bottle and chilled it. Green Tea taste so good cold. A 20oz. tea for 64 Calories. I love that I can take it with me.I am so happy that I started to keep a food journal again. Even though I have made both good and bad choices, it has helped me to see that there is some pattern in my eating habits. I see that the biggest pitfall for me is that I seem to go with convenience. I still choose to make bad choices but for the most part I will choose something healthy if it is conveintant. So to plan for the big weekend I went shopping today and brought: Fresh Corn, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Green Beans, Carrots, Apples, and Watermelon.

Only if you stop me from eating when I reach 2000 Calories a day! Do we have a deal?May 24th: My husband was off yesterday and for the next 3 days HELP! I had about 2800 Calories (Give or Take
of few) I added them up this morning because I was feeling guilty. I planned healthy meals on the grill this weekend w/lots of veggies and was doing good until my husband ordered pizza for a 4th meal last night. I see that along with convenience, eating fast food for a 4th meal is also a pitfall. I need to work on that. |
